I've considered turning it on just slightly, because I feel like a "good secrets system" should provide some subtle indication of a secret, and in some cases, there's just none.
(And if I haven't found them after 200 hours, chances are high the only way I'm going to find them now is a Youtube video/forum post-- as I did just two minutes ago in a different thread. And I'm under no delusion that "looking it up" is anymore honest than the game helping me itself. At the very least, I still have to stumble upon the location.)
nono it's just the regular secrets, you know the regular health items and challenge rifts, they are beyond obvious now
I totally agree with this, that's why this should be moved into assist mode. The rest is very good though, especially the dyslexia friendly font and UI scaling.
don't the developers decide the core principles?
the developers decided this fits the core principles.
additionally, it absolutely has to do with being impaired - you know some people have vision problems, right? that's a thing that exists.
cope harder
And as someone with far less than perfect vision, I can see why it's under Accessibility. In all my time playing, even when I was standing right on top of them, those dim little glyphs were basically invisible to me. Most of them time, I cracked them open by accident.
(For anyone that wants to use this without feeling too "cheaty," leave Saturation and Hue at zero, and set the "Value" to a very low number.)
(PS: I was right: in the starting area, there were three "Beginner" weapons hidden under the bridge. I never, ever would've found them. Not a big loss, but a fun little surprise.)
[Admittedly, this does have me thinking I'm probably due to renew my prescription.]
I'm up to 2BC without touching assist mode, but the highlights are a must for me for eyesight reasons.
