Loving the new accessibility options, however secret outline should be a part of assist mode.
It's just way too OP, it's a cheat at this point, put this into the assist mode.
Also many texts aren't scaling.

Haven't tried it myself, but I was thinking along similar lines.

I've considered turning it on just slightly, because I feel like a "good secrets system" should provide some subtle indication of a secret, and in some cases, there's just none.

(And if I haven't found them after 200 hours, chances are high the only way I'm going to find them now is a Youtube video/forum post-- as I did just two minutes ago in a different thread. And I'm under no delusion that "looking it up" is anymore honest than the game helping me itself. At the very least, I still have to stumble upon the location.)

The outline has nothing to do with being impaired by any means. It's a test of awareness. It's basically cheating. Same as Aspects and longer parry. It has nothing to do with any disabilities, just enables baby mode. This trend started with Custom mode and is just ravaging the game since. Today it's a mangled form of it's former self. Stuff like this is against the core principles of the game.

I totally agree with this, that's why this should be moved into assist mode. The rest is very good though, especially the dyslexia friendly font and UI scaling.

the core principles?
don't the developers decide the core principles?
the developers decided this fits the core principles.

additionally, it absolutely has to do with being impaired - you know some people have vision problems, right? that's a thing that exists.

cope harder

Came back after finally turning it on, and... I definitely overestimated the impact. A little extra health, a little extra money. And most of the time you have to be basically right next to them before anything lights up. I really wouldn't call it "OP."

And as someone with far less than perfect vision, I can see why it's under Accessibility. In all my time playing, even when I was standing right on top of them, those dim little glyphs were basically invisible to me. Most of them time, I cracked them open by accident.

(For anyone that wants to use this without feeling too "cheaty," leave Saturation and Hue at zero, and set the "Value" to a very low number.)

(PS: I was right: in the starting area, there were three "Beginner" weapons hidden under the bridge. I never, ever would've found them. Not a big loss, but a fun little surprise.)

[Admittedly, this does have me thinking I'm probably due to renew my prescription.]

Ideally, you'd explore the level fully anyways, finding all of the secrets. It doesn't add any items or gold that didn't already exist. Like many of the other highlights, it's an optional feature for those with weaker eyesight that want to enjoy the game at the original difficulty.

I'm up to 2BC without touching assist mode, but the highlights are a must for me for eyesight reasons.
