It took me 55+ hours to FINALLY kill 60 enemies without dying to go through the door
Am I that bad of a player? I did it in the Ramparts and was excited hoping I'd get a blueprint but nope. I was always thinking I would do it in the Promenade but couldn't get to 60.

I made it to the Concierge on 1BC and almost beat it. I don't know I'm kind of getting discouraged though, haven't seen many blueprints drop lately in many of my runs even though it still seems I have a lot to still collect. I beat the Giant though on 0BC.

Any thoughts from the experts?

For starters, the flawless doors and timed doors aren't that significant in the whole picture - especially in low boss cell difficulties - because it's not a massive reward. It is ideal to get them as often as possible of course, since the item is free, but missing out on a few isn't really going to hurt you. You can always acquire new items as long as you take care to not over-spend on rerolls too much or have to invest lots of money into food shops.

Secondly I will mention that it becomes more and more viable to reach the 60-kill requirement as you go into higher cell difficulties, because there are more enemies around. On 5BC, for example, I've been able to reach 60 kills in the Prisoners' Quarters multiple times. And those flawless doors only require 30 kills.

So don't sweat it too much. If you would like some advice though, one of the big suggestions would be to try and avoid aggro-ing Elites until after you've reached the kill requirement. Elite abilities are really good at hurting streaks, because even the smallest tickle of damage will reset things. And just in case you happen to have not done so, you can turn on a counter to display your current streak in the Options menu.

Great thx for the advice.

Any thoughts on the blueprints? I'm starting to get discouraged playing as much because very few blueprints are being dropped. But it looks like I have a lot more stuff to unlock with them.

If you have the Specialist's Showroom unlocked, you can take the Hunter's Grenade around and use it to get all the blueprints, weapons & outfits alike. In the Custom Mode settings you can set yourself to have enough gold to be able to open the door, and then while carrying the Hunter's Grenade it shows you which enemies still have blueprints left to find. Many blueprints are designed to have a pretty low chance at dropping; the Tornado blueprint was one I didn't get until months after its was added to the game.

But also, yes, there's plenty of things for you to still find. Even in higher cell difficulties you'll have new blueprints that cannot be achieved on earlier difficulties, all the way up through 5BC. So there's no need to really fret about it at the end of the day.

The Hunter's Grenade is the thing that costs $3000 gold right? I don't know what door though you are referring to open though. Could you be more specific?

Well as a 5bc chad i might say you should (git gud) learn to parry and dodge

rather than going for most item drops go for most scrolls (cursed chests etc)
my route usually is Promenade>Prison Depths>Ancient>Conjo>Graveyard>Cavern>Giant>High Peak
However rather than going Ancient Sewers to Giant you can go normal via ossuary

The Hunter's Grenade spawns behind one of the golden doors that costs money to unlock. If you have unlocked the Specialist's Showroom it spawns somewhere in the Prisoners' Quarters, along with the Forgotten Map that lets you fully reveal one area in the game. I was saying that you can set yourself to have a higher starting gold amount at the beginning of each run in Custom Mode, so you can always have enough to open the door and get the Hunter's Grenade.

I haven't used shields up to this point so can I ask you a question? When I see the stats of the shields they don't keep you from getting any damage when you use them right? Like if I get a greed shield it says protects 75% of damage. So maybe this is a dumb question but if I am still gonna get damage from projectiles if I use a shield why should I use it? How about just trying to dodge and duck and roll instead?

Percentage of protection is only relevant if you`re holding your shield up.

Parrying = blocking at the exact moment of an enemy attack. It interrupts the attack, you recieve no damage, reflect parried projectiles and briefly stun melee atackers.
When it comes to blueprints. Look out for secrets in the area. You can even find them on your spawn room if you're perceptive enough...

That said. Don't be afraid to bring the hunter's grenade. Losing out on a skill slot sucks, but it still increases all of your scrolls by 1 each, making it a free scrolls upgrade.

Wait so if I buy the Hunter's Grenade I get an increase of my stats? Sorry I'm confused.

Yeah, Hunter Grenade has the unique property of having a +1 stat to each scroll. While having a 2nd skill is nicer, it doesn't hurt you if you're hunting for blueprints

Thx for the explanation.
