Art style totally puts me off
Anyone else? Just tired of the hyper light drifter style in all these games, also 'roguelite', i mean come on, why can't we just get normal games anymore, a true castlevania game would be most welcome.

Procedural generation needs to go away, quickly.

I feel the complete opposite. I love this style. The models feel 3d but are pixel. I HATE the flash game art style a lot of rougelite's have.

I love the art and love roguelites. Just go play something else.

" true castlevania game would be most welcome." Are you some kind of troll? All castlevania games have had pixellated styles, it's a one man dev team, I can see why you hate procedural generation, but these seem like childish arguments.

Agreed. There are tons of SOTN-esque games which aren't roguelikes. Let this one be!

Off the top of my head, I'll just name a few (some may be off but worth a check anyways):

-Dust: An Elysian Tail
-Valdis Story: Abyssal City
-Dust: An Elysian Tail
-Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
-Odallus: The Dark Call
-Hollow Knight
-Salt and Sanctuary

I'm certainly not calling all those SOTN-likes. But I think there's definitely a lot of similarity overall.

In my opinion this game has one of the most visually appealing art styles out of any of the SOTN-like games. I really love the art of Hollow Knight as well but the skill floor for Hollow Knight is MUCH higher than Dead Cells. With that being said I'm pretty bad so Dead Cells is a lot more fun to me.

that's what this game is, if you're not into this, than you should just avoid it. There are tons of other games into the market, why come here if you don't like it in the first place

if developers made normal games that were challenging, then rougelite games wouldnt have to exist, but right now alot of games that have some kind of challange are rougelites

It's an indie game, selling for low price, you can't expect them to craft a full length adventure

Way to judge a book by its cover...
Did you even play it?
The game's fantastic. I couldn't care less about your criticism.
