Just got the Wrenching Whip, doesn't seem very useful. Suggestions?
I've found that the vast majority of weapons and skills in this game can be made useful in the right combination. Impaler is an okay weapon, Impaler+Spartan Sandals is an awesome, powerful combo; Assassin's Blades is an okay weapon, Assassin's Blades+Phaser is an awesome, powerful combo; and so on.

I think I must just not be "getting" how to use the Wrenching Whip correctly (For those who haven't gotten it yet, it ignores armor and pulls the target one or two steps closer to the player.)

Is there a weapon or skill that it combos with?
Is it only meant to be used around spikes and pits?
Is it meant to be used against a line of irritatingly spaced enemies?

If it pulled the enemy all the way to the player's hit box I can see how it could be useful, or if it just pulled them far enough to get an enemy caught in a bear trap or something, but since it only pulls the enemy one or two steps forward that would require a lot of individual attacks.

I think I must be misusing it, I don't have the clue.

What do you guys use it for?

I know when it first hit, it was op broken as it could stun lock enemies so they couldn't fight back, but they fixed that.

I find the wrenching whip to be pretty daymn good. Has a fast attack speed and a decent range. Is one of my favorite weapons in the game.

I found it to be really useful with the Infantry Bow, because it pulls them in close then you can get a critical with the bow. I also thought it was really good for hitting annoying flying enemies, because it has really good range and works well when jumping.

Fast Attack
Useful with Infantry Bow
Good range

I'll give it a shot.

I have found that there are lots of weapons that I love and others hate, and vice versa, so maybe it just comes down to preference here...

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes wrenching whip is great for dispatching those annoying shield guys and archers who cheap shot you when your fighting two greenies and a scorpion. But it is far the best weapon to deal with anything flying.

Nah the best weapon for flying stuff is the shovel. At least for me. You can't miss with any part of the swing chain. You can just flail around with it and it'll hit anything in the air no problem. Plus it's the fastest heavy weapon in the game so there is that too.

Have you gotten the chance of trying Magnetic Grenade + Wrenching Whip yet? The grenade pulls in the mobs while the whip just destroys everything in it's path. It also sometimes pulls enemies towards you (not very far tho) which can cancel enemies attacks.

I've found the Wrenching Whip to be good as a general attack even without a combo because of how fast it is and the range is long enough to take care of most things easily with some strength upgrades.

I think that maybe I just don't like the whip weapons in general. (Not judgement, just preference.) The Crit Whip is fun, but too inconsistent for me most of the time, the Electric Whip is extremely powerful but irritatingly boring, and the Wrenching Whip just doesn't impress me either.... (Hey, I don't give you guys a hard time when you complain about shields, do I?)

Right now I'm finding myself really enjoying the Hyabusa Boots, though. Those things are wicked fast, awesomely powerful, and the AoE at the end of the combo is enough to make up for its lack of range. 10/10 for both fun and function, 15/10 if you pair it with Phaser.

I haven't tried the shovel yet, still haven't gotten the Blueprint, but I'm only 72 hours into the game so what do you expect? Anyone remember who drops it?

Thanks for the feedback, guys, I'll keep trying to find my groove.
