How to avoid autoclimbing walls into spikes?

So, I just died twice in a row in 4BC in Graveyard to the exact same spot.
I got cursed, and my only path forward was through a trap zone. No problem, I'm pretty good at platforming.
However, this specific layout requires you to do a running double jump over a wide patch of spikes. Directly above the spikes is a platform with more spikes. If I double jump too low, I hit the ground spikes, and if I double jump too high (which is what I did both times), I auto-climb up the platform right into spikes.

Is there any way to avoid the auto-climb up platforms? And in the same vein, any way to avoid the auto spider-up walls upon contact? Climbing up walls into spikes has killed me many times as well.

You could drop through the platform and move left. As for avoiding wall-climbing, I think you need to be falling as if you hit the wall while jumping up you're going to automatically climb.
