emergency door wasting time, wtf...
went to get this item... its in a lore room door in slumbering sanctuary, ok. get there, no door. start from the beginning of level and re-run through to see if i missed it, nope not there. ok, gonna just enter a seed from a video that has the lore door, uh no? lore rooms for some reason deactivate when i enter seed? so, i have to fn keep restarting the game and playing up to that level and hope the lore room randomly appears?

Have you deactivated lore rooms in the game options?

no.. but when i went to put in a fixed seed the description of it said 'lore rooms will be deactiavted' so im guessing i cant use that method to ensure a door appearing

Interesting, I've never seen that message appear.
Out of curiosity, which seed number was it?

not on a seed #.. if you go to custom game, advanced options then go down to fixed seed it tells you right there about the deactiavted lore doors. so no point in oputting in a seed

That does indeed mean that you'll have to let the lore room appear naturally.

Yeah that sucks.
Still, the spawn chance of that lore room felt like 30-50% back when I didn't have the blueprint because it kept popping up pretty often. There's a good chance you'll come across it soon while doing normal runs.
Worst case, you can drop the difficulty (I'm assuming you're playing on something higher than 0BC) and do runs for the Slumbering until you get it.

i'll let you know on how many times it takes... if it becomes an issue. That was my 1st attempt and i did it on 2bc. usually do 5bc unless new stuff comes out and i cant be bothered to grind too much *cough* like this item might be *cough*cough*. Im also going to make sure enough items are unlocked in my pool to not disable achievements... who knows, that may also stop a lore door from appearing =/

I found the lore room on my second attempt - which I realize is incredibly lucky.

Imagine you want the nerves of steel, and you couldn't enter a seed to find it... I spent HOURS getting that blueprint legit back in the day (before locking a seed in). And then add extra time since the slumbering sanctuary is further in. Oof.

Thankfully, I feel like the door is less useful, overall. I'd recommend just getting it organically as you play.

yeah, i know what its like to grind for items w/o the hunters grenade... been around since right after EA started back in the day. not fun.

The door, like most items in the game imo is mediocre at best. but ive been keeping my file 100% since i can remember so waiting to get it organically isn't going to fly. not looking fwd to the slumbering sanctuary loop.

fast fwd -> Just finished getting it. :yawp: took 6 re-runs. not the worst, very unneccesary.

Preciate the conversation :D

I needed four tries to get the door and I've never seen this message with any of my customs seeds. I had turned lore rooms of manually before but enabled it for the mushroom boi achievement and the door.

Yes, specifying the seed in custom disables lore rooms. Of course, if you disabled lore rooms by default, that'd do it, too.

That's my point:

- deactive lore rooms is unchecked
- I enter a fixed seed number und custom
- I check options > gameplay again and deactive lore rooms is still UNchecked.

Maybe this is only in the English version, but underneath the custom seed option, the game tells you "lore rooms will be deactivated."

Emergency door blueprint is in a lore room. Deactivated lore room = no lore room. No lore room = no blueprint.

That's MY point. "Specifiying the seed in custom disables lore rooms."
