Cursed gold pickups as a random from from enemies. WHY?!
Getting cursed for 20 kills should NOT take form in the shape of reflexively pressing 'R' because you saw an item on the ground.

Before you retort: no: not going to watch what I pick up. Off the table. Not an option. This goes. I got a gaming flow to maintain, and I'm not going to defeat the point of playing Dead Cells by paying attention to what has that otherwise-friendly pickup prompt.

I don't normally go all-caps letters, I don't normally get this mad over something in a game, but, devs!!! If there's no way to remove this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t "feature" via the workshop, I'm going to be staring at every pickup for 2 seconds - choking my flow into downright hating the game. I don't care how rare it is, I don't care where it comes from. I care that I have more than a 0% chance to press the "receive good stuff" button to die.

So please. Leave an option to get rid of these cyanide pills. Again, I'm not normally this angry or demanding or upset, but this? I hated Minecraft's Endermen for the same reason: discouraging you from aiming at head height.

Again, please.

there's some new items in the update. One of them is a gold skull that give 10000 Gold if you pick up but be cursed in the same time. Good items are automatically picked up if you walk on them, that rare one give you the choice to accept it or not.

Yeah its super dumb, it just ended a run for me because there were less than 20 enemies remaining on the level... and the next level is a boss....

The number of gold is random, no ?
In my last run (4-BC), it was 32000 gold.
Jager2 Apr 3, 2019 @ 10:09am
I ran into one of these and snatched it, which pauses the screen, and then noticed that there was an enemy fireball about three pixels from my nuts. Naturally, soon as I unpaused it I was dead--no dodge or jump even possible.

I was in the Clock Tower on 3BC and well on my way to finishing the run. Put an end to those aspirations.

My reaction, however, was to laugh hysterically, not make demands of the devs. I love this game for being so savage, personally. It's what separates it from just another whatever game I'll forget about in a week.

And If you don't like it, change it; that's what the mod tools and documentation are there for.

Or git gud.

I laugh at my mistakes too.

I just don't laugh at how I can't trust the 'R' prompt to be 100.00% a good thing now. It's like the devs thought "Hey, you know that thing expert players reflexively do in the middle of combat, loot stuff? You know how the stuff they pick up is in their periphery, because they're watching the floor for Challenge Rifts and watching Zombies when they leap? Yeah, let's give them something unfun to pay attention to."

That's the message I'm getting from these Cursed Artifacts.

Also, I don't normally make demands. I've dealt with Skyrim's crashes, with TF2's idiot teammates, even with Minecraft's Endermen encouraging me to glue my crosshair to walls and floors so I can't look at one. So of all things, Dead Cells' Cursed Artifacts legitimately piss me off enough to come and get demanding.

Still bitter about picking one up after killing a Masker in the Prison Depths (so get this: I didn't even see it, just the prompt fading in before my in-the-zone brain pressed 'R' without reading. Because what commercially-successful and modern dev booby-traps loot that dangerously without a confirmation window?) And then fighting an Elite whose free-hitting laser beams caught me after dodging him - and it - for 20 brave seconds straight.

Not everyone has the guts and abilities(as a player) to do so every hugging time.

I don't f*** get it. LOL. Good gems are picked automatically, this one, just poped up, like the food, which can be malaise contaminated or not, you hadd a choice but made a bad one...

Why not to make demant about food with mailaise as well? I want all te items to be malaise free, and free potion refill every biome. And free upgrade to S-level gear.

Stop making games harder Motion Twin it isn't funny, you think people play Dead Cells to test yourself? Game should play automatically, why you need to control your character andchoose what you do, when and how? Please change it :/

But seriosuly,...

You're pissed at yourself, and blaming devs for it. Seriously? You just messed up, because of such a silly thing... just clench your ass and carry on. You have hundred worse things in-game than such a minor cursed pickup. This is literally maybe a 15 minutes lost. Rushing to PD will take you just a few. No big deal.

It's like blaming devs for parrying attack and getting hit because I messed up with timings, doesn't make any sense, right?... 99% of time game is really fair, and I can blame no one, just myself. And I do, And I know that next time, I won't make the same mistake again, this is a progress, an essence of this genre in general, isn't it? And it feels good.

Huh, I have 300+ hours in Dead Cells and I've never seen a cursed gold item. When was this added, in the rise of the giant update?

I'm pretty sure it was before. I have almost 500h on the counter, and had it once, where Philisopher Stone 3x.

See, the fact is, now it pisses you off, when you start a 4bsc run, you WILL HAVE to look what it is, and decide to recycle or consume it.

I don't get it, you mad at devs because you were used to picking items without looking and thinking first. It's same thing to starting a run, and there is some enemy in random place in the level. Or not timing your parry right and getting hit, or loosing streak kill....

I don't know, but playing Dead Cells you have the feeling that anything can happen and you have to deal with it, all the time. This is what it makes this games fun and not boring.
