So starting a custom game wipes out your normal game progress?
I thought I would see what the custom mode was, so I tried it, only to later find out my normal mode save was gone...no warning, nothing. Are you not supposed to have a normal and custom game going at the same time or something?

Don't know about that save matter, but in the end, you can configure custom to be like normal, and it won't prevent you from obtaining achievements. If it doesn't help, hope you'll find a way to fix it.

You're saying you launch custom mode, and start the game entirely from the scratch?? Or do you mean that your actual run was reset and you can only continue custom run? If so this correct. And starting custom or normal mode again doesn't make any difference. Every new run is a start from the beginning, with random map, gear, enemy position etc. And you're doing all of it again - picking gear, scrolls for damage/hp, upgrading weapons, unlocking stuff, trying to not to die too early. That's how it works. But you're kept with upgrades you have a chance to unlocked like a new weapons, bigger health flask etc.

BTW, you have a save slot system if you really want to make sure to keep the actual progress or just want to cheese and break the game in some way. So you can load the game in any moment in the run you want, repeating as many times as you want.

Ok I think I get it...yes, I seem to still have the stuff I unlocked in Normal, but by starting a Custom game, I lost my in game progress in Normal and it started me over. But I was under the impression you had to play on Normal in order to unlock and use those items in Custom...is that not right?

Nope, you're good to go, you can unlock blueprints in custom. Just take care of what options you enable/disable, it could block achievements.
