How many hours do I need to finish the game?

So I have 6.1h in total for Dead Cells, this is an amazing game, really enjoying! But I had my last run where I thought I could finish it, I got NOTHING near the final. I defeated the first boss easily, then it went all wrong really fast. I'm not even close to the end, with 6 hours. I'm now in a point that I'm afraid to continue because I don't wanna lose everything again lol.

My question is: how many hours did you guys have when finished the game for the first time? Don't get me wrong, I really like this game, even though the graphics are not my type! Thanks!!

Hard to say since a lot of us played the game at different time and there were new zones and bosses added as the time flew. I'd say that an average player should be able to beat the current final boss in about 30 to 80 hours of gameplay. Maybe 15-30 if you're a top tier platformer player that takes it seriously and did read some guides or watched vidoes on how to beat harder bosses. Of course once you beat it there's still a lot of content to go through like all mutations, weapon and skill unlocks, permament upgrades (to your flask, forge, merchant etc) and 4 difficulty modes.

It really depends on how experienced you are with the game.

I finished the game for the first time with around 30hours, but in that time, the Assassin was the final boss, so of it would be HotK, I assume 35-40h to finish it first time.

But now, since I'm experienced with game's mechanics and boss fights, I can safely say that I can finish the first run from a new save file.

It all depends, as well said from Ray G., On how dedicated you are in the game, by searching information / guides and etcetera. :)

On my side I'm reaching the final boss with 10 hours played (my brother played the other 12 hours of my total playtime). I guess i will be finally able to beat him on the next 10 for sure. But I play a lot of sidescrollers, metroidvanias and the like so I'm used to this kind of gameplay.

I had 24-ish hours after beating it for the first time(Foundry upd8-ASSASSin's the last boss).
The time It'll take you is fully dependant on the pace you're improving/progressing at things(may be shortened by a making-the-game-a-cakewalkingly broken drop/layout).

I remember when Conjunctivitis or w/e was the last boss. There were only 2 bosses at that time iirc. Brings a tear to my eye ; - ;

I play abour 100 hours already, and not clear it. But for one full run need about 2.5 hours. 5 boss cells X 2.5 hours = 12.5 hours in total for 5 full run.

Wow, and I thought, I'm slow runner. it takes one hour for me with full clearing all stages.
First win on 4 cell diffictlty happened at around 200h played.

One full run is about 40 minutes actually.

150 minutes is a lot.
40 minutes was by going most of the sub parts of each level (enough to grab ~30 scrolls along the way in any case), plus there's some gameplay mechanics such as timed doors and speed bonuses when chaining ennemies that reward faster, agressive play.
And I'm by no mean a speedrunner. Far from it.

But sure, if you're actually barely moving, waiting for the traps to kill the ennemies for you, and exploring everything that way, it probably can take that much time.

It will take 2 hours or so if you're going for full clear of every biome (including the long way through Prison Depths and Ossuary) when you don't care at all about timed doors and stuff so it's entirely possible, I was once playing in a similiar way.

But yes as others have said - the most common time for players that know their way around the biomes is around an hour or so.
