Any tips for beating very hard+ ?
I'd like to think I'm a pretty good player but I'm still fairly new to the game and wondering what are the best strategies in making it through very hard and beyond, the lack of health fountains seems pretty unforgiving and I haven't seen any 1 flask recharges yet. Like, should I be going for maximum damage resistance, avoiding enemy contact and favouring health recharge skills/abilities etc.? Also, do the flask recharges only recharge 1 use of the flask?

Yes, the recharge is only for 1 use.

Very hard + is 3-cell, right ? So it's basically the same as before, just don't get hit, and make good use of food shops.
I often use alienation when I need a full heal, I find it really usefull.

For me, most of the run is about finding the best build to kill HotK and avoid dying.
I fight most of the ennemies after the 2nd timed door, but it's just a personal preference, that's how I like to play.

Try to find a good modifier combo early and you're good to go. Any fire enabler + 100% dmg on burning target is the easiest, most common and strongest combo IMO.

Very hard is 2 cell and that's the first difficulty without any fountains, which is where I'm up to. And yea thanks.

Go glass cannon with at least 6 survival and once ur pretty good at the ultimate skill - dodge rolling - u probably won’t have much trouble with the Hand. U get that 1 flask recharge after the black bridge and before(could be after) the time keeper.

I would suggest the route be prison cells>promenade>ossuary>BB>stilt village>clock tower>CR>castle>Hand for the path of least resistance.

Roll 1% healing per hit for 100% incoming damage on wep. I thought this was bad to begin with but I gave it a chance and being that you don't want to get hit anyway when you do you can effectively regen it back after killing a few trash mobs, doing this on a Hyabusa carried me through 2 cell very easily. With a weapon with good speed its easy to see it gives good sustain without relying on health pot charges. Try it out and see if you're stumped for ideas

Yea I've always thought it was bad because I've been bursted very quickly with it by an elite slasher for example but I'll give it a go, thanks.

The same way you beat any of these modes. Just cheese it. You can just stay away and use hit and run tactics. You don't need to go fast. Use the meta stat build as well along it. Not that useful on 4 stem cells but it's still decent.

I don't understand. What is the point of cheesing ? You are playing a hard game in a harder difficulty. Aren't you here for the challenge ?!

He is asking for how to beat it. Not how I play it. And hell if I can cheese something I'll cheese something. As long the game let's you do it. Abusing wolf traps for more hp enemies is what I like to do personally.
