I always feel a need to complete levels as fast as possible.
Every aspect of this games makes me want to just speedrun through it all, go through the most basic route and get to the basic boss. Whether it's with a really fast weapon or how satisfying it is to kill something quick and move to the next platforms of enemies, I don't know what actually makes me want to go fast other than that.

Can you actually take your time with your runs? Exploring every part of a map without any rush at all?

Yes. That's what I do. I like taking my time with all the games I play. Every run I take through dead cell lasts at least an hour or hour and a half.

You can speedrun, which is what the timed doors are for, or you can go slow and steady. You won't get every powerscroll, since some are behind the timed doors, but you will get gold. Lots of it. This helps mitigate lower damage or survivability by going to shops regularly. In addition, you'll come across many free items if you take your time.

If I go slow, even on hardest difficulty, it takes "30-40" minutes on the in-game timer, but more like an hour in real time.

There's lots of people making topics about this, I wish the devs would take the topic into consideration.
Here's a suggestion I made in another thread.

Yeah but we lose out on the rewards of timed doors, which is way better than running around exploring. Basically, people who don't want to speedrun will always be at a disadvantage.

I agree there should be a way to incentivize a run that let's you take your time. Because how it is now, the game really pushes for you to rush your way through everything. And I don't think it's a good idea to build the game to only favor running away, and speedrunning

[Suggestion] <- pls pls pls consider this

-Maybe add some extra bonuses at the end of the stage for clearing out lots of enemies. Maybe 1 or 2 scrolls, depending on the % of enemies killed in the stage

-'Hidden Keys' in every stage, that gives you access to the same Timed Door room, but requires 2 or 3 keys that are spread out and semi-hidden along the edges of the stage. This would truly require exploration and reward taking your time

This would balance it out, and let the player choose the pace they want to take with the game. And most importantly, not 'punish' or have players miss out on scroll opportunities for not speedrunning

I rarely speedrun since I prefer to take my time so much, that and I'm greedy so I want every dead cell and gold piece I can get my hands on. Sure mowing through enemies makes you feel like a badass, but so does just casually strolling through the level waist deep in enemies without a care in the world.

I don't think it gets much more satisfying than taking a Broadsword and going down to the Prison Depths and just parking yourself in front of some Spiders so that they can spawn some flyers for you to whack!
