Bell Tower Key
The Bell Tower Key just randomly dropped as soon as I reached the first bell in the Clock Tower. I was under the impression that you had to hit all the bells in a specific order to get it. Is there some other secret method that I accidentally completed?

I think it drops randomly from one of the bells once you get the punishment shield blueprint from doing the whole thing to get it. Not 100% sure on that but idk what else it could be since it happens for me whenever I go to the clock tower now

Duh, you get a key when hit bells in a sequence from the lowest to highest tone when hit. 1.4 added some bug where you get a key, without doing it, just by hitting some random bell in the level.

Yeah, this is definitely a bug. From what I've seen, hitting a bell, any bell, can cause all of them to ... well, freak out. This drops the key.

It's weird.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened. I think I saw one of them spin completely around...
In any case, I don't have the patience or the sensitivity to pitch to determine what the right order to hit them is, so I'm glad this happened.

I've done that puzzle... 3 times now, on different saves.

If it just wants to drop, why not? LOL.

I thought this was a mercy from the devs for people who have already completed the puzzle. Because the puzzle sucks. But, it seems to not happen every time...

I like music, I like a good puzzle, I have pretty good hearing and am usually fairly patient, yet I still hate this one. Running around the map trying to memorize the latest random layout as well as which bell made exactly what sound. Fun times? Not so much...

Yeah, the biggest issue for me is remembering where they all are.

Once I get my punishment blueprint, I just ignore the bells.

After the last update, ALL doors that require an optional key (like the bell tower key) now stay open forever!

Huh, what?
They stay open after solving a case, similar to the Flower Keys and the tower in Promenade, or the doors with the mutation in the Castle.

Isn't that what i said?
Flower keys and Moonflower keys are optional keys, therefore their doors now stay open.
edit: i was wrong. some doors that require an optional key do not stay open.
