How long is a run?
My particular taste in rougelikelikes is very specific and polarized. I absolutely love short ones like Spelunky or Crypt of The Necrodancer where each session lasts between 30 minutes to an hour. In those, failing is fun! On the other hand, I get really frustrated with long ones and would rather keep at least part of my progress via unlocks or persistent items in those.

Also, what kind of difficulty can I expect? As a reference, beating hell in Spelunky was super fun, and so was Necrodancer in harcore mode (on the other hand, Aria as a story-mode requirement for Necrodancer unfortunately killed the game for me).

So, how long does a successful Dead Cells run take, and what is it aiming for in the 1.0 version?

A full and successful run usually takes me around an hour give or take 15 minutes when I try to clear everything on my way.

I run through start to final boss in 20mins on average. I generally only kill what I have to in order to get by and explore 100% of all maps.

Nice! That sounds like a reasonable length!

I'd love it if you came back and told us what you think after getting your ass kicked by the harder stages a bunch of times xD
At some point it becomes a survival game as you try to avoid enemies scrounging around for health.

My average time would be 40 minutes on the in game clock, so I'd assume it's 50, to be generous (the ingame clock pauses a lot). It's a hard and grueling game, so good luck!

Depends how you play. Anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.

Can't forget to mention, this isn't like most roguelikes/roguelites. When you exit the game in Dead Cells, you don't lose progress for your current run, meaning you can come back to your run later after exiting.
