Question about timed doors
From when do they start to countdown? I know there usually spawns one at the start of promenade of the condemned and found it quite fast, but it said it had sealed 2 mins and 13s ago. How? Do they start to count down when you are in the checkpoint area?

they start from the moment you gain control of your character. one strategy ive found to make it in time in all of my runs is to avoid all enemies in dungeon 1, track down the 2 stat buffs, and then jet to the next level immediately. 90% of the time I can make the timed door and not miss out on important stats.

after you get the blueprints though (and especially after you get 85% gold retention) there is no reason to visit them.

The timed doors follow your total time during the entire run, not from the start of each level.
So if a door were to close in 5 mintutes, it means 5 minutes from the start the game.

You can see your total time in the bottom right corner of the screen, and it will pause itself when you're in the checkpoint area.

Indeed. its a 100% speedrun as in "dont attack mobs and run" i rushed for the power ups and any power up golden doors. grab things needed from shops. i got to the first boss timed door with 47 seconds to spare.

I see, that was not very obvious.

There's no way to know initially, but it makes sense that they did it the way they did.

You can use the built-in timer to know exactly how much time you've spent, so that's quite convenient. When going for the ivy bomb, I always aimed for getting to the Pont Noir around the 8 minutes mark.

whats generally behind the timed doors?

behind timed doors? just gold. Initially there are a couple of blueprints but once you pick those up all thats left is gold on subsequent runs. It is one area I feel like needs more love.

Indeed, after you've gotten the blueprints, timed doors become essentially worthless.

It might be interesting to have its rewards match those you would get for full exploration. That way you could choose between exploration and speedrunning without being penalized for your preference.

Three of the timed doors give a blueprint the first time you reach them: the promenade, the ossuary, and the one after the black bridge. The promenade shouldn't be that hard, the ossuary requires some luck as that place is so big and you need to find it quickly, but the hardest is the one after the black bridge as you need to not just rush past enemies, but collect enough upgrades to quickly beat the boss, and you only have 11 minutes for it.

All other timed doors, or repeats of them, give you only gold.

Btw, those aren't the only blueprints that don't come from enemies: there's one if you backtrack and climb the wall at the start, and another above the start of the promenade.
