Also there seems to be a save folder in the game folder, maybe try moving it into steam game folder?

flawed logic.

try renaming the save file from your torrent version to whatever your steam version is called and replace it.
I'd very surprised if this topic wasn't locked/flagged for moderation and even more surpsied if the OP isn't banned off the forums. Being open about piracy on steam isn't exactly the smartest thing to do. However I would say find your save file folder and copy/paste it into the steamapps folder.

1) disable steam cloud so that it won't mess with files.

2) start the legit version and play a bit then save and exit. (use the same save slot as the isodemo version)

2) find user_X.dat file in your isodemo game's folder

3)go to :\Steam\userdata\xxx\588650\remote

rename your isodemo save file so that it is exactly the same as the legit save u got. Copy-paste your isodemo save file, replacing the old one.

4) play the game a bit. Make a backup jsut in case and enable steam cloud.

He tried the "demo" version and it made him buy the game.

If he didn't try it he wouldn't buy the game at all.

Contrary to corporations propaganda good games actually benefit from "piracy". It's bad and mediocre games that suffer.
.
CD Projekt knows this.

There is no economic basis to this claim whatsoever.

Actually there were studies.

And it makes perfect sense.

Meh I don't have an issue with what he did. He bought the game, how he did it is irrelevant. It's the other people that hide behind people like him for never buying games that bug me "well I would've bought it if I had liked it but it was trash! I'm a good pirate" while having played 100 hours in said game...

I imagine this comes from some sort of "guy pirates game and makes a YT video that millions see and buy the game" mindset. Causation vs correlation. In cases like this, or similar, or even remotely related...him pirating didn't help the game, making a video did. The fact that the piracy led to that doesn't validate piracy. Don't be dumb.

This topic should not be flagged as it serves to prove a point that MOST people nowadays use pirated software to demo a product they are interested in. I for one don't have tons of money to throw around so I still to this day have used copies of games just to see how it will run (because specs mean nothing if the game is optimized poorly) and to see if the game even is enjoyable. Gameplay videos don't let you actually FEEL what playing the game is like. I bought Lords of the fallen based off videos/reviews and returned it almost immediatley, so I know a thing or two about playing vs watching/hearing.

Congrats on picking up the game though moetmdiihia, It's really fun.

My friend says that only 3% of games on torrent are interesting for him, if he didn't download games from torrent he would waste his money, because a lot of games are boring after several hours and 2 hours payback limit on steam not a very comfortable. So torrent is fine, my friend always buy good games. As for me - i bought Elder scrolls online and i only waste my money, if i had ability to try it on torrent and see how stupid this game is, i would never bought it. If my friend didn't use torrent when he was a child he wouldn't play and buy games now, so torrent made an avalanche effect for gaming. Torrent piracy is very popular in Ukraine,Russia and it's bad, but if you had a salary of 300$ and black swans every year then 10-15$ for video game is kind of pain, but nobody consider this problem but only say that piracy is bad.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
