I started playing the game again here on Steam with the announcement of the TV show characters in it, until I realised we weren't getting any of them.

So I'm instead playing it on PC via the Google Play games Beta, its surprising how much we're missing here.

One thing I'd put it down to would be Steam seeming to not allow these freebie games to have third party advertisements, since I'm sure that the clicks are more how Bethesda gets their money than the actual MTX.

Do you guys not have phones?

Why not play it on mobile? It's free to download. I just started again this week and am having a blast.
Actually, no. I don't even own a cellphone.

yes

I'm assuming it's cause the PC version is very easy to hack, although that seems like a strange excuse considering there are definitely players who would donate if it made sense (like me)

No.. it's because mobile is where ad revenue is generated and Steam doesn't allow ads.

So the only reason the publisher put the game on steam was to increase customer base in hopes that some would just go play it on mobile where they get updates and generate ad revenue.

I wish they would, but I have read over and over they won't do it. I recently had to transfer my steam save to mobile because I really wanted to play the new t.v. show content that is only on mobile version. So basically, my Steam fallout shelter vault is one game in steam, and a different game in mobile/but playing using Bluestacks on my PC because I don't like gaming on a 4 inch screen or tablet. I didn't want to start over with a new shelter, so I was glad at least I could use my steam save in fallout shelter for android.

I don't mind the ads in the mobile game. At least they give you something like extra caps, advance your exploration by 30 min, a guaranteed successful room rush, or Nuka Quantums

Other mobile games don't give you anything for watching mobile ads.

They're not straight up denying that there will be any updates for the PC version, but their reply certainly didn't fill me with optimism.
Like many others here have already done, the best current solution would be to install Google Play Games on your PC and install Fallout Shelter from there.
It's not as optimised as the version here on Steam unfortunately, so expect stuttering and the occasional crash.

They basically have not told you anything. To the point I'm wondering why they even bothered sending you that email.

It is fair to say they don't care at all, intentionally or not.

Lol... that response is why I threw in the 'Bazinga!!' ...cuz, they're not actually going to help with the issue. That, and it was funny that their support guy is name 'Sheldon' like on 'Big Bang Theory.' lol

Yes, not at all hard to do that.

Transfer from the Mobile version you mean?

But again the Mobile saves can't contain anything in it that is new content that the PC version does not have. I see no point to using Fallout Shelter from Microsoft Store app as it's the same as the Steam version.

It overall just makes me mad because all of this is due to simple and poor laziness on Bethesda part. Here we are about to get a bunch of Nintendo 64 games ported to PC with ease and with Ray Tracing and yet we can't just play the Mobile version of this game on our PCs, pure BS if you ask me.
