y'all should take the chill pill
Because Fallout Shelter has been handled by a 3rd party ever since the PC and Console versions were dropped in favor of Mobile Only
Unfortunately there isn't really anything online people can find about this.
The last Fallout Shelter update for PC was Oct 2018. That's all we need to know, it's obvious no more updates are coming. Only supported versions are on iOS / Android. We know Bethesda gave approval of Fallout Shelter Online. China version of Fallout Shelter; not just up to date but even has more content then the regular Fallout Shelter ever did. It's available via Google Play Store, however if you look this up while in other countries it will say "Not available for any of your devices"
You'd think with Steam Deck releases and other hand-helds coming out over time (plus it was already on Nintendo Switch) you would think Bethesda/Microsoft would want to keep this up-to-date to keep micro-transaction revenue coming in. I really don't understand it. They must have a bunch of idiots working there.
Fallout Sheller has raked in approx 100+ million USD just on the Mobile versions; imagine if they took the time/effort to support the PC and Console versions.
I had thought (since it too made sense) that we'd eventually be able to play the Mobile version on PC via the Google Play Games app for WinOS; but no. Only a select few mobile games are even available through that app. It's really dumb.
You would of had to have been using the Bethesda game launcher client back when it was still available. Bethesda had an announcement about it in their launcher news way back when. They basically dropped the PC version in steams lap about the same time they were discontinuing their game launcher client for PC. Ofc, just looking at the last release notes for the last patch made for the game, you can pretty much conclude Bethesda had no intention of supporting the PC version any longer... which is why the mobile version gets updates and the PC version does not. But, if you want to voice your discontent on the matter, Bethesda's forum would be the place for it. Nothing here in steam will likely get viewed by Bethesda concerning this game.
can you help us take this request to the forums? do you have a user ? help us!
Just install Custom Outfits mods with Fallout Shelter nexus (Vault 33 Lucy outfits , The Ghoul outfit, ...).
Maybe one day a modder will port Fallout series dwellers and quest from mobile to PC.
It would help that the Mobile version able to connect properly online when used on PC though as you get tons of extra Caps and Nuka-Cola Quantum that way
No. The phone version (newer) save files are not backward compatible to the PC version (older.) PC version... 1.13 while Mobile version... 1.16
No because the PC version as-is now wouldn't support the added features or characters from the mobile version. I've tried it. Just makes the PC version crash when trying to load the save from mobile version. It does work if your mobile save does not already have things in the Vault that the PC version wouldn't support. Like when you first make a new game on mobile and have not done much yet, then save it and try that save on PC it does work.
