They don't do you any good inside your vault.
This game isn't exactly supported anymore anyways.
The game not being supported anymore does not mean someone might not know something to help. But thanks.
At any rate..... as has been suggested by others.... you could always get yourself one of the 'Save Editor' mods for the game. There's a couple decent one's I know of.... one you can use in the web browser drag / drop game save file into..... and one you can download and use on your PC. Then you open that vault save in the editor, make whatever changes, save the vault, close the vault, then exit the Save Editor. There's many 'good' reasons for using those mods. One is cuz they have 'fix' options which can resolve some known bugs. And, some options like forcing births..... cuz that's another bug I've seen someone having where they just stayed prego for no reason and wouldn't give birth. But, another thing you can do is add Mr. Handy's to your vault. So, it's not really cheating.... just replacing the missing Handy's.
Thank you for your help!
And You can use Mr. Handys to also fight stuff as well as collect recources. I had my vault set up in a way that it was selfsefficient, so I would never run out of electricity because the mr. handys would pick it up, even the 3 minutes after I close the game. But without that, I fall heavily behind.
AS for Mr. Handy's...... yeah, they are GREAT for use IN the vault. In fact, you could argue that's all they're very useful for. They go back n forth across the screen on the level they are placed and collect stuff. So, say you have a Power production set of rooms along with some Food and Water production. You never need to click on those cuz Mr Handy will do it for you. Imo, that's the single best thing about them. AS mentioned.... they will also contribute in emergencies like attacks and fires. Sending them out to the wasteland is just for getting caps I believe. There maybe more to that but, unsure..... as I mentioned they just keep disappearing if I send them out for some odd reason.
Also, worth pointing out for anyone using this game on BOTH mobile and PC..... the game is two different versions and you can't port saves back n forth between them. You shouldn't use cloud saves from a mobile version on PC cuz it will get corrupted.
But yes you could use the save editor to get them back again. Or view thr save and see if you can actually find and restore them. I had to do that a couple times. Not to cheat so to speak but to fix a couple things. I had lost a couple dwellers both in doors and out and couldn't click on them after a while of forgetting about them. The data was there in the save though and was able to just bring them back to life that way.
If your Phone or Tablet is nice enough to handle this game with large vaults and not come to a crawl. Look at maybe getting...
> USB to HDMI adapter for Phones/Tablets
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089QS4LKH
> BlueTooth Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo
Now can easily play the Mobile version on a TV/Monitor
So that's how I ended up fixing it, was really easy to set up as well.
Basically what happened (cause it's hard to know if you have it) I got attacked by Rad-Scorpion; now these generally take quite a bit of time to fight off. Well after probably 10-15 (real time) we finally fought it off. Well the game did not seem to think so, the time glitch kicked in and the whole "red alert" lock-down would not lift. Even after I allowed like a good extra 15-20 mins (real time) to pass. I immediately knew something just wasn't right. So yes the FOS-SaveGame-Editor definitely has its uses, and not just to "cheat"
Honestly I don't see why they had to have micro-transactions anyways.
They could have just incorporated Mr Handy as a random lunch box card. And maybe added some more possible ways to get yourself lunch boxes in-game without having to buy anything.
