Can you get all achievements without paying?
I'm a huge Fallout fan but haven't played this since the launch mobile days. I feel like this would be a good game to play while skilling in RuneScape, just wondered if you can achieve everything without any kind of payment? Thanks :coromon_blush:

I wouldn't see why not

NO! Actually, I can say with almost 99.9% confidence, you can NOT get 'all' the achievements without making in-app purchases. The one achievement you will not get is that '25 Legendary Dwellers' one. It's impossible to get that many 'Legendary' dwellers through 'normal' play of the game. That means you'd have to buy lunch boxes for a 'chance' of getting some legendary dweller drops. And, some people have tested this... finding a varied chance between 500 and 600+ lunch boxes in order to get that many legendary's. However, you could use a game save editor (FSSE) and cheat--giving your vault the legendary dwellers or a cuzillion lunch boxes. So, yes... it IS possible but, you'd need to 'cheat.' Fortunately, steam doesn't recognize that you've cheated if you use the game save editors--which is why it's possible to do it this way.

Seems like you don't know, or you liyng... I got last archivement "25 legenary Dwellers" without "cheating" all I did, just turned time follow 1 week to get free lunch box, on windows setup, and I did this more then 600 times. (foward and back one week) each time you geting free box. 600 boxes is enought to get 25 legenary Dwellers... but may be there a chance that you need more then 600 boxes. Any way without "cheats" only with "travel" on the time, I got the archivment.

P.S: you need 25 legendary only at one of your vault. for example:
If you have 2 vaults and one of them you have 20 legenary dwellers, and in seconds vault you have 10 legendary dwellers, you will not get archivement. there must be on one vault.
P.S 2: As I remember you need 25 diffrent legendary dwellers for archivment. but must be in one vault.

Other archivements you can can without "travel in time", but you can use it also, for myself I didn't used. Only for 25 legendary dwellers.

"Travel in time" means changing time in windows while plaing the game. you will undestand. ;P

You realize manipulating the game clock is cheating right...

You're doing something outside of normal game play to gain an advantage so it's definitely cheating.

That having been said... you CAN attain all achievements without paying OR cheating. It'll just take a long time to attain the lunchboxes needed with normal game play in order to get the legendary dwellers for the "last" achievement you'll get.

As Gandalf says, "Run you fools.. cheaters never win!"

Yes, you can.
But getting one specific achievement may take HUNDREDS of playtime hours.
Mardoin69 Oct 6, 2024 @ 9:15am
Ok, so... for everyone claiming you 'can' get the 25 legendary achievement through 'NORMAL' playing of the game... not cheating (manipulating time settings) in any way... That just seems near impossible to me considering I played my vault through to the end and kept it going for a LONG time after there was next to nothing else to do... aside from the Daily and Weekly quest, daily objectives, and exploring wasteland. Still had not aquired anything more than 18 legendary dwellers... even having opened a ton of lunch boxes from 'Daily objectives' handouts. Getting another 7 legendary's at that point... wasn't happening... at least, not before you die of boredom.

OPs question wasn't "can I get all achievements without manipulating the game clock" it was "can I get it without paying"

If you guys don't like manipulating the game clock, that's perfectly fine, but that's not what the question in this thread was.

The point I was making though is... you can't get them 'all' through 'NORMAL' game play... and that they'd have to use some sort of cheat to do it... or else, they'd be at the mercy of paying for lunch boxes.

This is false.

It is possible to get all achievements without paying or cheating.

You get Lunchboxes for "normal" game play. No need to pay or cheat for them.

Lunchboxes have a chance to give Legendary dwellers which are needed for the lengthiest of the achievements.

Claiming an achievement is "impossible" simply because you're too lazy to go to the effort of achieving it is a false statement.
Mardoin69 Oct 14, 2024 @ 10:31pm
No.... Not 'Lazy'... maybe read my earlier responses. I do know how to work the system and get a ton of lunch boxes within the early game stages--without cheating. And, I did play a vault all the way to the end and continued it for quite a long time afterward... till the boredom was killing me. And, like I said... the most I could get was 18 Legendaries. That is about the only Achievement that I think is 'difficult' enough to call dang near impossible. Reason I say that is cuz in the late stages of the game, it's far and few between to receive lunch boxes as any type of reward--not buying them. And, with some people's testing of 500 to 600 + lunch boxes to aquire 25 Legendary's... that was NOT going to happen for me when only getting a rewarded lunch box MAYBE once a week of playing an already finished vault--getting them 'possibly' from a Weekly or Daily quest. At the rate I was getting them... would of took me almost a year to get another 50 lunch boxes. And, the drop rate for a legendary dweller is next to none it 'seems' like in my experience... except in the early game stages as was pointed out by another.

So, yes... it's not 'impossible' but, it's highly unlikely. I don't believe Very many people would grind this game out long after completing it.

The Steam achievement is for 20 Legendary dwellers.. not 25. Where is this 25 achievement? Not as if it matters if it's 20 or 25, it's clearly possible to reach any number of Legendary dwellers through normal play without paying or cheating.

If you got to 18 Legendary dwellers through normal play, what is it that's preventing you from reaching 20 or 25?? What is making it "impossible" for you? If your only determiner is that you don't want to go to the effort of continuing to play normally then that IS you being lazy.

There are plenty of methods of obtaining Lunchboxes through normal game play. Skipping and pushing objectives until you get Lunchbox rewards is one way. Watching for and completing wasteland location explore pop ups is another way. Running daily and weekly quest is another way even if it's highly RNG based. Those are all on top of the guaranteed weekly progress lunchbox.

In short, everything you yourself have mentioned about your own play shows, without a doubt, that it IS completely possible to reach the Legendary dweller count achievement through normal game play, without cheating or paying. It just takes effort to actually achieve the achievement...

I've been playing for months, I've bought a ton of lunch boxes, and gotten a ton of free one's. I have yet to achieve the 20 Legendary dwellers. A little frustrating to me. I am about ready to quit playing. Almost all my dwellers are at level 50, and all of their special stats are filled. Just saying I'm almost over it, lol.

Definitely not. I am stuck at last two achievements, one is manageable (defend against 50 raider attacks) but other one is impossible without buying boxes.
That is - 20 legendary characters - no way without cashing in a lot.
For nothing.

sounds like a mix of yes or no. i can try to get the achievement the normal way but it it takes longer than normal then i MIGHT try the cheat thing. i dont like cheating (mount and blade is another story) but ill try my hardest to get it legit.
