Babies?
How long should it take for a baby to be born?

3 hours for birth, 3 to grow to my knowledge.

Lol, forgot this game keeps running even when you exit.

Any tips on leaving it for an extended time? I'd think having all explorers being recalled would be a must or they are going to die.

You only have to worry about dead explorers early on. Even with only 10-13 endurance,

if you stock them with 25 stims and maybe 10 or 15 radaway they'll survive plenty long enough to find the full 100 items and auto-return.

With 11+ endurance, you don't NEED radaways for exploring as they're effectively immune to radiation damage then. You can still take radiation damage in some random quests that are triggered while exploring with high endurance though. That's not an issue if you're just going to send explorers and shut the game off for a week.

The game actually tells you how long when you click on your dweller list

They'll die if they run out of stimpacks before they collect 100 items. Which will always happen until you start pushing their endurance right after they're born.

Outside of Survival Mode, that's not the end of the world, you can revive them for Caps, and it costs 1k at most. Probably not something you want to do intentionally while money is still an issue though.
