as for you money, it's gone.
Save files are not stored in the game directory.
Your chances of ever recovering files are always dim anyways
if there is nothing to recover from that directory path, then i'm afraid your save is lost.
you could try Steam support, but i have yet to see anyone manage to recover their saves this way.
once done;
1- open the game and stop before loading any vault
2- alt+tab or w/e, copy those restored files back to the location the game expects save files to be, like i mentioned above
3- close the game
4- wait for Steam to sync those files
5- reopen the game and load your vault
6- if its still not the vault you expect, rename the save to save.backup or w/e and rename that backup file to the original save file name
7- close the game and let Steam sync the files
8- reopen game and load backup vault
1- before launching a game, download everything from Steam cloud repository to the local save fodler
2- launch the game
3- when game closes, upload everything from the save folder to the cloud sync repository
you could try temporarily disabling Steam cloud sync and fiddling with the save files until you find your old vault, but always remember to make a backup of everything you change just in case
like i said before, your chances of ever recovering your saves are dim, but best of luck to you. and if you do manage it, please report back, i'm curious
