Modding outfits?

I'd like to change some of the SPECIAL values on the existing outfits. I don't want to mod the color, shape, or anything else. Does anyone know where the files are and what is required to accomplish my goal? Thanks.

I don't think you can alter the games outfits? I do know there's some mods on Nexus....one of which is 'Custom Outfits'. With that mod, you can add custom outfits to the game. There's some mods with some costumes. You can then use Notepad or Notepad ++ to open the outfit file and edit values.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. Actually, I found the answer and I was intending to post it under my own thread for future use, but you provided me with a convenient opportunity. You can mod existing outfits, but you can only change the stats and the rarity by creating a custom JSON file using the "overwrite" array.

Again, thanks for the help. I will definitely be downloading the custom outfits mod.

Oh sweet! I'd so love to modify the games default outfits.....to make them give bonus in stats that correlate better to the job positions. Like....why does the wasteland medic outfit give bonus to perception (which you need in the water production) instead of Intelligence....which is what's needed in the med / lab stations? There's a lot of that in this game that always bugged me--I know, I know, I'm a bit OCD--lol. Thanks for the heads up on that. Maybe a little more detail on how you did it would be nice. But, you've given me the idea....just need to see if I can figure it out now.
