"Get off my lawn" Achievement and Objective Completion Pets

When searching for the fastest way to get this achievement online some said that the Objective Completion Pets help.
I currently got 2 x2 Dogs waiting at the Vault Door with the 2 guards but whenever I complete a Raider Attack the Raider Attack stopped count in the stats still only increase by 1.

Do Objective Completion Pets really help or is this just a ruse?

Update: Just got the achievement. The Objective Completion did not stack which required me to complete 25 Raider Attacks instead of 14.
So yes, Objective Completion Pets do help but keep it mind that it does not stack.

I have equipped 2 dwellers with 3x objective completion each but still after the last raiders attack i got only 1 attack at the stats counted.
