Upgrading Vault Door increase the time enemies takes to break it (i.e. Raiders, Feral Ghouls, Deathclaws)

IIRC Deathclaw breaks level 1 Vault Door in 3 seconds.

But eventually you reach end game where caps is just nothing to worry about you start destroy max upgrade rooms and swap around max upgrade rooms just for fun :P

Yes, but it also depends on the vault layout. For me the first floor is always empty, so the enemies for me run to the very right side, then return back to the vault door room to get down through elevator which gives me enough time to switch weapons early game.
In late game you might even wish for the enemies to just enter instantly, having them wait outside is pointless and a bit boring.

I just equip every dweller with minimum 17+ damage weapon lol love to see feral ghouls fall one after another without attacking after breakthrough vault door

It is worth upgrading the vault door, when you get the task to "upgrade xxx rooms".

It is also marginally useful if you want a few seconds to shift more heavily armed people to the first floor.

I have a 3-room power room immediately next to the vault door, with 6 heavily armed/armored workers. The 2-room to the right of that has 4 more. Not even deathclaws make it off the first floor, ever.

Should aim to take out least 2 deathclaws in vault door and none make pass second room (first, 3-unit room) with max SPECIAL dweller all carrying extreme lethal weapon

Yeah, that's the same thing I do, even if the deathclaws get past the vault door, if you can still manage to kill them before they reach the 2nd floor, that helps a great deal. One way of doing this is if you have 2 other rooms on the same floor as the vault door, one that is 3 rooms wide, and the other that is 2, but you don't attach an elevator to the room on the far right side of the 1st floor. This will expose the deathclaws to more attacks from the dwellers in this room and make it pretty much impossible for them to even make it alive to the 2nd floor (if your dwellers have good enough weapons), because deathclaws always continue moving forward, to the right, through the rooms on a floor until they come to an elevator, but if there is no elevator attached to the far right room on the 1st floor, they cannot go down to the 2nd floor at this point, the only way they can do this is backtracking and moving back through the previous rooms to get to the elevator attached to the vault door room. But they're pretty stupid, lol, because, instead of going directly over to the elevator attached to the vault door room, they go back to attacking the dwellers in the previous room just before the far right one, from backtracking, which makes them come under fire from the dwellers again, which pretty much results in them all dying before they can even get to the vault door elevator.
Upgrading the vault door to the max is very important, to give you time to transfer your best dwellers with the most effective weapons and defence over to the 1st floor.
