A steady way to get "Blast from the past" achievement on PC.

By this method, you don't need to create a new vault or adjusting computer time.

This method will utilize a modifier created by a famous Chinese mod creator "风灵月影". I don't have an official website of him but you can download his modifier through this link: https://patch.soft128.com/down/59087.html
By clicking the second to last big blue bottom, the download should start automatically. Your firewall may give you a warning that this may damage your system(this happens for a lot of modifier I believe).

After unzip the .rar file, you will see an .exe file called "Fallout Shelter v1.6 Plus 17 Trainer".

Before opening this program, make sure that you have at least one lunchbox in your inventory.

Open this program, then start your game. Once your game is running, press 9 on your numeric keyboard. You should hear a bip~ sound or what. That means this modifier has worked correctly and the function of "lunchbox never decrease" is enabled. Then, enjoy you click time :)

I have tried this method myself and got this achievement in about 2 hours after opening around 3 or 4 hundreds of lunchboxes. But this method is much more efficient than adjusting time to get lunchboxes one by one.

Yes, this achievement is f***d, but it's objectives are clear - if you are not up for the challenge, simply you shouldnt have this game on 100% completion. That's simple.

I salute to your resolution! But to be honest, three years to play on this single achievement is just too out of character. I'm playing the game, not played by the game. I really love this game, that's the reason why I played so many hours.

To respond to your last opinion. I never tried to deny I'm cheating on this game to get the last achievement done. I was trying to justify my reason. But yeah, you are right, cheating is cheating. Not every challenge are designed well to be an appropriate challenge. I love this game, but I don't want to waste as much time as you on this game.

Anyway, my way of cheating is just essentially the same as the "legal cheating" of changing the time on PC. But my way is faster.

Lastly, stop patronizing because you don't cheat. This is a single player game. The fact that I cheat will make me feel better by filling the last piece of the collection. The fact that you don't cheat makes you feel better by keeping you on the "moral highland" at the expense of three years' grinding.

Again, I salute to your resolution. But there is no way you could patronize me for anything. I'm not writing this post to give you(or anyone) any opinion on how you should do. It's just a piece of information that this can be done this way. If you don't like it, go away. This is single player game so no one is going to affect you in anyway(except that more people are going to get this achievement done).

There's a less "hack the client" way to get this. Go to https://robot9706.github.io/FSSE/ and download the latest version of the Fallout Shelter Save Editor. From there you can load up one of your vaults and give it as many Starter Packs as needed. Then go into the game and open them up one at a time. As each one has a legendary dweller, you should have your achievement shortly. The only issue is possibly having to kick dwellers from the vault as each pack does contain 3 dwellers so your vault could fill up quickly.

Yes, this takes you 3 years to do it legit. Everyday farm for 1-2 hours on late game with just sending your dwellers out bringing stuff + doing missions + random events.

Honestly, spending so much time for just an "achievement" is totally dull.
