Fallout Shelter
The objective/mission of "Kill [insert enemy here] without a weapon".
So I had gotten one of the objectives/missions (whatever you wanna call it) a few days ago that said to "kill molerats without a weapon". I had assumed that this meant that they had to be killed by dwellers usings fists only and not guns/meelee weapons, so during a molerat infestation I took away their weapons and had them use fists only but that didn't count apparently. I considered making a discussion thread about it before but said ♥♥♥♥ it and just skipped it since that's only the second mission i've skipped out of all of them in my vault so far.

Now i've just gotten another one that says "Kill deathclaws without a weapon" which rewards one lunchbox. So, what does it mean without a weapon then since I guessed it meant fists before but apparently nope.

this needs to be done inside your vault & the enemies must not receive any damage at all with anything except fists (not sure if pets count)

Mr Handy can kill them for you and it counts for obj.
Oh ok so if it was what I had originally thought i'm guessing that maybe some damage had already been done with guns in the room that got infested with molerats before I removed them so it didn't count or something, I dunno.

Now i'm gonna have to find a way to take down 3 deathclaws with only fists, even with the 2 Mr. Handy's that sounds like it's gonna take a long while and a ton of stimpacks. It's probably easier with fully upgraded stat dwellers but that will also take a while lol.

Bad news... only 1 Mr. Handy per floor.

Personally, I drop those objectives if I get them. More work than I want to deal with.

I know it's 1 Mr Handy per floor. I'm gonna probably try it at least though. The other one with the molerats was only for some caps but this one is worth a lunchbox at least.

If you want to complete the objective that bad you may also try rebuilding the 2-3 upper floors of your vault by making the rooms 1-block wide & not upgrading them. As far as I've read on this forum, creatures\ tughness directly depends fro mthe room size\upgrade. But I don't know if this applies to enemies that spawn outside of your vault..

i can confirm that with pet, which gives damage bonus counts kill.
also, i may suggest while defeating deathclaw, use vault door as a damage area and use guns. whatever deathclaw survives, it is easier to kill them in the 2nd or 3rd room with no weapon.
for molerat, radroach, readscorpion use a 1 level 1 wide room and use 2 dweller and rush it till the desired creature spawn. feral ghouls and raiders are easy opponent if they fought in vault door instead of fought in 1st room.
it is also adviseable to use objective completion pets such as "dogmeat", it makes easier to complete such missions.

I have build my vault with this quest in mind, first point is to have only one way to reach the second level, so you can make an heavy deffence ( good in all game in my opignon.

my build :

http://prntscr.com/jk146f

the reasons i put a bar next the door is : this not a quarter ( so i can put mens and womens guard without risk of pregnancy) , this is not a storage room, cause my guard become sad in :|

i choose the bar cause this is roleplay and usefull, the guard hapiness is alway high (cause as the overseer, i dicided beer a free for guards)
And time to time is cool to switch gate guards in the bar cause they become sad
(i choose a x2 bar but i have a x3 in my vault for real training too )

I choose the armory for the same reason, but this time this is my real training room, cause when i train a dweler, first step is endurence (for hp per level reason) and the last is perception I like conciderate the first floor as the barrack of my vault, so i choose this room.

Now few tips :

1- Mr andy can help but some time the kill don't count i noticied that today, i after few try i have understand, for few enemiys , Mr andy use his flame trower (on cockroach for exemple)

2-Pip Parrot, when you know were the death claw die, put a pip in the room

3-don't be affraid to upgrade your vault gate, more high is the size and level of the room, more strong the enemies ( inclued fire) become strong when a diaster happen, but it's only true is the enemies spawn in the room, lvl of enemies for outside is derectly related to your generl dweler's level. for now it's take 10 or 12 sec for deathclaw to break my level 3 gate (just 0/1 sec whith the level 1 or 2 gate )
So the gate level 3 give you the time for disarme peoples

4-build "test chamber" room x1, at the bottom of the vault ( i build all the generator at the bottom, so first level and the far bottom level are the only way i can gate Rats, cause the other room of my vault are protected by elevators and dweler in the generator room are strong, so they can manage it ) http://prntscr.com/jk14yf
this room (the x1 nuclear reactor for my) have to stay x1 and level 1, so you can use it for completed mission like "kill x enemies without weapons" verry esealy ( exepted death claw)
and spam rush in this room for create diaster, cause sometime mission required that

Important : I recomand to rename the 2 guys you put in this room "Gordon Freeman" and Barney Calhoun" cause they are 2 Verry pro guys to create and manage diaster ^.^

for the test chamber, remember to give theme a pet for hapiness, when you spam rush for diaster that help alot !, aslo a Pip parrot for the without weapon mission.

For the Death claw mission, i put the Pip parrot in the armory i disarme everyone in the armory, but not in the gate and bar, cause i know they only let one death claw with low hp for the armory and dwelers in the armory kill maybe only one but count as 3 so... i think this is the easy way to do it.

Now remember your vault is different, so you have to find were the last death claw die for disarm and put the parrot in the room.

Have fun =)

So I added another level with only one Nuka-Cola Bottler room (not upgraded), put a Mr. Handy in it with a dweller with maxed out levels of Strength and Endurance, and put a Strength outfit on him, made sure not to equip him with a weapon, then rushed the room until I got Radroaches. If I got something other than them I equipped a gun quickly to take care of the infestation and then kept rushing until I completed the task with Radroaches. Didn't take too long this way.
