Fallout Shelter
Can't start the game
I've had it installed for a while but hadn't played in a while. I just went to start it and got a pop up saying encountered an error. I uninstalled and reinstalled, tried to play again and got the same error. Anyone else encountering this?

Edit: Looks like it's a memory issue going by the error log. I've quit everything but the steam client and I'm still getting the error :(

I do not know if it is somehow related, but my game crashed on "save&exit" destroying save file and now when I click either vault select or enter vault game crashes immediately. Files validate just fine. This is second computer this happens btw...

Update: I loaded it fine last night, also played fine this morning. Played a couple of hours of Wow, came back to check on my vaults and getting the error again. Restarted laptop, still happening. This is so weird.

Nope, sorry. I have submitted a ticket to Bethesda. I tried using the Bethesda Launcher to start the game and I got the same error so it's 100% not just a Steam problem.

I'm having this issue too. Currently 2 legendary dwellers off my last achievement. Very frustrating.

I found a solution - works for me anyhow. Turns out it is Citrix causing an issue with all newer Unity games (failure to start Castle Story prompted me to search again).

I found the solution on this Unity Forum https://forum.unity.com/threads/unity-2018-2-7f1-windows-standalone-crash-on-first-run-unityplayer-dll-caused-an-access-violation.556585/

I followed pawfessor-fluff's comment regarding uninstalling the Citrix Indirect Display Adapter through device manager and now both games are working perfectly.

I can also confirm that I successfully logged on to my work pc from home just after uninstalling that component so it seems that (at least for me) it's not a vital component.

Hope this helps guys :)

EDIT: This does work however if you restart your computer you need to uninstall the Citrix Indirect Display Adapter again. My internet died last night so I couldn't confirm this but it was confirmed this morning ....

I had this problem, I have a laptop that has integrated graphics and a nvidia geforce 840m graphics card. Ever since I updated the nvidia cards driver, the game would crash on startup; so I switched back to the other one and everything's fine now. hope this helps.

Same here - no Critix installed, computer freezes each time i try run unity game. Updating drivers didn't help.
