Can anyone tell me which customer support to contact? I tried steam and I got this basic reply:
"In-game item purchases are not refundable if any items in the purchase have been consumed, modified, or transferred."
So I tried bethesda and also got an automated reply directing me to their online help answers.
use "recuva" to see if you can retrive a delete save game, if it has not been overwrite to much.
also check store page if it was a free weekend that you need to reactivate the play/install on pc, it seem steam remove it if you have activate doing that free weekend as i understand it.
about customer support. all games has contact info, use it per game to contact developer/publisher depend on who has support, many developer will move on to newer title and can only get contacted through the publisher support, ofc. they will contact developer if devloper is not has abandon it or moved on.
I had a similar problem. The game crashed as I was exiting a quest. I had to restart the computer, as I couldn't even pull up task manager. When I went back in to C:\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\Local\FalloutShelter, the .sav and .sav.bkp files were both corrupt, and empty when you opened them with a text editing file. When I right clicked on the files and selected "restore previous versions" it showed me that windows restore had backed up a save from a few days ago, but after clicking "restore" it brought up an error and in the log file it says that apparently windows restore won't allow you to bring files back to C:\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\. But then I found this site that shows you How To Extract Individual Files From a Windows 7 System Image Backup [www.howtogeek.com]. I followed the instructions on the page to mount the backup image as a virtual drive, navigated to C:\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\Local\FalloutShelter in the image backup, and manually copied the older versions of .sav and .sav.bkp out of the backup onto my desktop, and then un-mounted the drive. I then pasted the older versions into the regular location. Worked! Only lost a couple of days!

(I'll be manually backing up my saves every couple of days now, thank you very much.)
