If your top row of rooms has dwellers that dont have endurance trained from lvl1-5 up, dont let deathclaws in. They will rip them apart.
My top row has 2 guards at vaultdoor(lvl50's with maxed out end from start) with a rocket launcher and minigun. They can take out almost one deathclaw, next room is power station with 6 people, all having at least flamers. Third room is only 2-wide, nuka reactor, having 4 more with at least flamers.
That stops all deathclaws to the third room, always. You need good weapons and high endurance and high level people, so they dont die while trying to kill the deathclaws. Levels you need for them just so they have the HP to take hits along with endurance.
If you let them get anymore down towards your weaker people, they will absolutely destroy you.
You can stop them from invading by dropping below the 60 or 65 dwellers. Can't remember the threshold atm.
Dwellers have hitpoints equal to HPgain=2.5+(0.5*E). Lvl1 dwellers always have 105hp regardless of endurance. Lvl5 dwellers that you gain to your vault door through radio or other means, have hp according to that formula and their endurance.

Etc. This way so long as you line the top two floors with strong guys with good weapons they'll have to run a gauntlet before they manage to get to your squishier vault. With that plan though you'll find that they should hopefully be stopped on the level 1 rooms on floors 1 and 2.
Other than that, make sure you're at minimum of combat shotguns for level 1 and plasma pistols for 2. Anything less than those only tickles deathclaws.
When I get attacked it just make me lose my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time, I let some dwellers with a pistol fight the deathclaw
They die ? No I just heal them I have a production of 24 steampack/15 minute with a storage of 65 ez
This game is 2easy4me x)
However, actually playing Survival-mode without any of those, deathclaws will actually kill you if you just go too fast ahead.
I use the default elevator location on first floor, that way the deathclaws will have to go through the same rooms twice. So you need less people to defend.
Level of the room affects only incidents in that room, not deathclaw attacks. It does affect radscorpions, however.
Basic flamer for all 12+ dudes with decent level and end in first floor and those deathclaws never see more.
I have pretty okay weapons 15-20is each.
about 15 dwellers totall on the first 2 floors.
I have noone at the door though it dident seem worth it
btw they are all level 3 should I rebuild them and leave em level 1?
your just talking about the first floor right?
Still, in survival-mode, its best to leave rooms lvl2 before you have max end lvl50 people manning it.
Ill try survival mode when I finish my vault
Yeah, survival-mode is entirely different game. You can't revive your dead dwellers for one, incidents deal more damage and even deathclaw attacks start earlier than in the easy-mode.
That tactic works in survival, just takes longer. Gotta take time and be prepared or your vault will be destroyed.
Deathclaws start at 35 pop if i remember right in survival-mode.Well, actually the deathclaws trigger at 36 pop so 35 is the max you can have before they come.
I have sank a crazy amount of time into normal mode alone, I cannot picture replaying the game or going that hardcore
I really recommend you to try it out. Spices up the game a lot when you can't just buy your way out by revives.
sounds like you need to spend less time gaming and more time studying.
