Fallout Shelter
How do you know your ready for death claws?
I have been leaving my population at around 58 to prevent death claw events.
About how many rooms of armed men should you have ready?
I have the top few rows pure Power/water plants
do they all need to be full S and E stats ?

Stats dont mean anything in vault for combat, except endurance which is your dwellers health.

If your top row of rooms has dwellers that dont have endurance trained from lvl1-5 up, dont let deathclaws in. They will rip them apart.

My top row has 2 guards at vaultdoor(lvl50's with maxed out end from start) with a rocket launcher and minigun. They can take out almost one deathclaw, next room is power station with 6 people, all having at least flamers. Third room is only 2-wide, nuka reactor, having 4 more with at least flamers.

That stops all deathclaws to the third room, always. You need good weapons and high endurance and high level people, so they dont die while trying to kill the deathclaws. Levels you need for them just so they have the HP to take hits along with endurance.

If you let them get anymore down towards your weaker people, they will absolutely destroy you.
You can stop them from invading by dropping below the 60 or 65 dwellers. Can't remember the threshold atm.

Endurance is not your health your hit points are determined by your level, if you have high endurance you will gain more hit points when you level up , but a level 1 with 10 endurance has still doesn't have any more hit points than any other level 1 . that being said , if deathclaws come just make sure your highest level dwellers with best weapons are at the vault door and 2nd room, then f they come you will be ready...it's not really about if you are ready for deathclaws...nobody really is LOL

As i said, get end 10 at lvl1-5, max end gear, train end for max hp. End is your effective hp,all is counted from endurance, if you dont train it before leveling up the dweller, those hitpoints are gone forever that you could have gained.

Dwellers have hitpoints equal to HPgain=2.5+(0.5*E). Lvl1 dwellers always have 105hp regardless of endurance. Lvl5 dwellers that you gain to your vault door through radio or other means, have hp according to that formula and their endurance.

Make sure to have two strong guards in the vault door and 2-3 extra rooms in a row with high end well armed people of decent level. Its paramount these rooms remain at level 1 since ime enemies health scales with the level of the room they are in. Past 1 floor down destroy the elevator at the end on the right so they should have to walk in roughlya straight line to get to level 3.

|v|----------------------------------|v|

Etc. This way so long as you line the top two floors with strong guys with good weapons they'll have to run a gauntlet before they manage to get to your squishier vault. With that plan though you'll find that they should hopefully be stopped on the level 1 rooms on floors 1 and 2.

Other than that, make sure you're at minimum of combat shotguns for level 1 and plasma pistols for 2. Anything less than those only tickles deathclaws.

How about you play survival mode instead of the easy mode? Also try staying online instead of just grabbing stuff and going offline. The game is easy if you do that. Or buy anything with real money.

However, actually playing Survival-mode without any of those, deathclaws will actually kill you if you just go too fast ahead.

I use the default elevator location on first floor, that way the deathclaws will have to go through the same rooms twice. So you need less people to defend.

Level of the room affects only incidents in that room, not deathclaw attacks. It does affect radscorpions, however.

Basic flamer for all 12+ dudes with decent level and end in first floor and those deathclaws never see more.

The level of the rooms only affects Incidents in that Room. It does absolutely nothing to Deathclaws.

Still, in survival-mode, its best to leave rooms lvl2 before you have max end lvl50 people manning it.

Yeah, survival-mode is entirely different game. You can't revive your dead dwellers for one, incidents deal more damage and even deathclaw attacks start earlier than in the easy-mode.

That tactic works in survival, just takes longer. Gotta take time and be prepared or your vault will be destroyed.

Deathclaws start at 35 pop if i remember right in survival-mode.Well, actually the deathclaws trigger at 36 pop so 35 is the max you can have before they come.

I really recommend you to try it out. Spices up the game a lot when you can't just buy your way out by revives.

For god sakes you don't even know how to play without buying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crates ? Seriously i've played the game without buying ANY THING and the game is easy so don't tell me the game is harder with survival mode if the problem is only because you can't buy --'
thommix777 Sep 5, 2017 @ 1:28pm
No, that was only one thing that makes the game easier... Read again the sentence.
