Help! Who is the sneaky detective guy?

This detective guy keeps popping up in random places with sneaky music, could he do damage or something? When i click on him i get money also?

Harmless, beneficial. Called "the mysterious stranger", he is nothing but a periodic source of revenue. The bigger your vault grows, the more you can get for each time you find him.

Thanks for the tip, My place is pretty small so i wouldn't have noticed till later or in your case, 70 hours later....lol

It's a double-edged sword

Since my vaults are big, it is either louder or quieter, so I know if I'm closer or not, whereas in a small vault, it's even, like unhelpful even. But since your vault(s) is(are) small(er), you can check very fast, whereas I struggle ... Why were you hidding behind a guy who were behind a shelf which was behind a door ???

I am assuming he is the same "mysterious stranger" from the other Fallout games. I know in Fallout: New Vegas there is a perk you can take, when in V.A.T.S. a mysterious stranger (dressed in the same outfit) will appear randomly and help you kill an enemy.

Ive never played any of the fallout games unfortunatlybut that would make since if thats who he was.
