Unarmed Radroach attacks
is anyone else getting an issue where when being attacked by radroachs, and having your dwellers using their fists; that the dwellers just run around in circles till they die?

I could not get them to set up to begin attacking and I lack weapons due to it being an early game and most of my weapons are in the wasteland.

This is absolutely pathetic

No, I difdnt create more children until I had the weapons to arm them - maybe worth starting again if its early days and you have expanded too fast.

I dont think it has to do with expanding fast because I had one of each of the starting rooms and majority of my starting dwellers were out in the wasteland getting goods.

My issue cam with the AI for the dwellers not being able to comprehend that they needed to attack. Im sure youve seen how the dwellers run about a run, then setup to start their turn based attacks against foes. My dwellers would just run around the room and slowly die because they could not start attacking the radroach, mobile or not.

Im speaking of the dwellers left behind to defend the vault, not out in the wasteland

there are "objectives" where you have to kill stuff without a weapon equipped.
the graphical presentation doesn't always match the damage calculation when incidents happens in your vault.
incidents are more difficult to manage in 3-wide fully upgraded rooms, specially when the dwellers don't have weapons at all - so don't upgrade your rooms when your dwellers have low HP (no E training) and low damage or no weapons.

This was occuring in single rooms with one dweller in them as well as double rooms with 2 or 3 dwellers in them; and this isnt objective or mission based or anything.

Per example, imagine you have 1 dweller in the med bay, boom! radroach attack, now your dweller is just jogging about the room trying to figure out how to attack the radroachs that have just arrived, which then leads to his slow demise.

how many dwellers do you now have??
Didn't some of the startup crew come with weapons??

I ediited this part of my post after reading your second post. Those dwellers you have in the wasteland all have weapons, how many are out?? Don't you think maybe one to explore or run missions and the rest at the vault would be the best course of action till you can get some more weapons acquired??

I got 4 vaults up and running, the last one is in infancy, the crew I started with had some weapons, I scattered those out in the vault, concertating on the power room wich is next to the entrance. I work the vault, raiders will come in and 3 or 4 dwellers with basic 1-6 weapons will be able to kill them. They drop armor and weapons with every visit, look forward to them arriving with a gift.

Take any dweller, I like those with higher stats, give them the best endurance / strength gear you can and send them into the wasteland. Don't have to be long, they will bring back junk weapons to start with, recall them often and harvest gear.
Work the lowest level missions, weapons and armor are gauranteed from those missions, Look at the level and minimum damage needed to run, choose the lowest ones first as the gear back will make later missions so much easier.

Upgraded rooms? That adds difficulty to most encounters spawned in the rooms

Rantoc I think you may be onto something, nonetheless; this is a situation that would/could really only occur in fresh vaults.

Also, I didnt know started dwellers got weapons, mine certainly did not

they don't unless you're running a survival vault. Some legends might, Idr.

Anyway, in vault combat, animations are not required for damage to be dealt. Your dwellers were either just not sufficient in handling the enemy or you had/have a bug. You may also have missed the animations, because they just do a really quick "kick"

Haha, I uassure you, in all my rage of watching 6 dwellers die by 3 radroaches, that none of them attempted kicking them; no damage was dealt

None of my unarmed dwellers attack radroaches either.
