Dweller Time in Wasteland
What's the longest you sent a Dweller out to the wasteland before pulling him back in?

I think 2/5 days was the longest I sent someone out. Ususally they make level 50 at closer to 2 days with high stats and a really good weapon.
My Harkness level 50 never pass more than 24 hours or he start slowly to become sad. If he's wondering more than 22 hours and gets around 80% of happiness even though he's endurance stat is on 5, still doesn't matter it is time to send him home, I know it will take the same time to come back. I wouldn't spend a cent in this free to play since it is singleplayer and 12-15 Nuka Cola Quantum is a big waste just to bring someone back to the vault. I leave the rest of dwellers to go on missions and if needed I would spend the bottles on them.

If exploration and raiders give same loots (weapons, armors, caps), why waste your time sending dwellers outside ? Juts wait about raiders and if nice RNG loot loot & loot. No need Nuka Cola.

Sending one person makes no difference to me. I bother because I can grab ingredient theme parts or blueprints to rare weapons, rare junk like tri-flag. The stupidest thing was to hear you saying that.

I found blueprints on raiders sometimes.

Yes, raider's invasions can guarrantee good and sometimes rare blueprints but since they are a small group, searching in the wasteland you find sometimes 4 rare blueprints.

So far, 13-14 hours.
Training my "Elite Squad" at the moment. Once they're 10 at everything, I'll send them out and see what happens.

5 Endurance is too low. And Harkness isn't the best choice of char for exploring wastelands. Use him in quests instead, he's cool.
Best dweller to send exploring is the one who born with Luck 3.

Then you buff his/her luck and Endurance to 7-8+ , I'd buff all the stats tbh, but Luck is a must, With it they find more rare and legendary stuff. Also its good to send him/her out with a pet which cuts return time.

Plus, when you build Overseer Room, you can do quests, that's where you find all the goodies. (some quests take some time to complete, quantum cola bottles will be very useful)

My dweller's longest time spent outside is 23h so far, considering and she had 23stimpacks and 22 radaways she could've walked another day, I needed the loot so I had to call her back.

Radio and opening repetitively entrance door are all you need to attrack raiders more often.

Don't need to be that extreme way. If they are wearing any armored outfit and have 10-22 of damage in any ranged weapon. They are fine to go out.

I got a couple of explorers already for items and recipes.
It's just fun to me to sent out the SWAT team once they're ready. xD

You can too recycle weapons & armors looted on bodies. But you'll need positive RNG for that.

Finaly, raiders aren't so bad and stupid like you described. And raiders are more safe in survival than let your explorers in action without control checking more than 20h just to have chance for better loots (you need to sleep as well and it's unsafe to let explore your dwellers while).

It depend on how deep you already go in game. Because you can too meet deathclaws instead of raiders. Then raiders tips become less interresting. Unfortunatly there is no beacon to attrack specific mobs instead another. In that case, exploration seem better than to fight deathclaws who give only XP, especially when you meet 60 dwellers (normal) or 35 (survival).

Mine are out for about 3 days and 10ish hours until they head back after collecting the max 100 items.

Mind you they were maxed in stats and tossed outside with decent endurance gear at level 1 and hit level 50 awhile in such a trip and given decent weapons of usually 18+.

Dweller's time in the wasteland is only limited by how sturdy he is and how unlucky he is in finding items. 100 items found = dwellers turn back, you don't always have to call them back.
The more he goes - the more good stuff he is able to find.
