Game bug - "helpful hint" won't go away - game stuck

The "helpful hint" to open "wasteland" to view "wasteland quest log" won't go away (this is just after building a control room and departing on a quest). Neither do I have the option to open wasteland. So basically I can't do anything except for level up characters and collect resources from rooms, because it won't go away.

Can't zoom in or out, build anything, move characters, check rooms, check characters. Nothing. Oh, and it also forces you to do the quest once you have the control room built.

Running it in the default windowed mode that it started in. Any suggestions? It's happened twice now, and last time I had to shut it down.

You sent them on the quest, did you use the nuka colas to advance the quest as well?
It is a complete tutorial of quests and it cannot be skipped, you have to finish the quest first.

I didn't see an option or instruction to do so. I'll have a look when I try again. But quitting without saving is messing up my water amount :/

Ah, never mind. I figured it out. Something obvious...I was stuck on the "wasteland log" part of it :(

The same error happens to me, I tried on my desktop and my notebook, window mode or full, same error. Did someone solve it?

It's not an error, DO what the tip says to you

The game is locked with zoom, when sending the first mission, without being able to modify anything in the base, just collect the xp, and the resources. No key works, 'esc' 'f1' 'f2' .. etc.
I am testing to be collecting the resources until the mission ends, problem is that I have no idea how long it lasts, since I do not have access to the mission log.

CLICK the wasteland and SEND your team on a mission. It's a tutorial, you can't skip it, you have to do it.

No, i admit that game's GUI and tutorial are sometimes clunky. Still there are dozens easily-findable topics on this and nobody bothers to search

When that comes up, don't pan the background or it will hang. Restart game and let the quest dialogue do it's thing before jumping ahead of it impatiently (happened to me too).

I am stuck at the same spot. I am on my 3rd time through the game, this time not spending any real life $$. The hit box will not go away, there is no where else to click. I have closed and opened the game a number of times now. I have moved it between monitors. There is no box to click, no icons to click. I have followed the dialogue and the helpful hit goes away until I send them on their way into the wasteland. I have done this with 1 person, 2 and 3 people. I have also sent different people. All with the same result, the hint box will not move away, no is it clickable, no icons or boxes are able to be clicked on. Enter, Escape, F Buttons, Alts, Ctl, resizing the game allows the Hint box to be clickable, display the Wasteland, Quest, Items display. I have clicked all over the Helpful Hint box just incase there was a hidden X somewhere.
I have also done the same on the second monitor. Had to say this after reading all the other previous responses.

it's a non-skippable tutorial with somewhat bad wording or people not reading

Genius idea. Still not moving, not advancing, still stuck, won't move forwards. Delete and start again.

Yeah,sorry, there IS a bug. Once it tells you to use the nuka cola to speed it up, it will sometimes fail to play the speed up and have the team enter. If you drop it out of full screen as suggested, you may get an enter button, but it won't be cliclable.

Personally, I had to force close it and restart from just before the quest and it ran through properly the second time.

You can't "git gud" to get past a game breaking bug. Cheers for you if you've never run into it.

Raven, the only thing I did differently the second time was that I didn't click "ok" on any of the hints and just let them close themselves as I clicked on what it wanted. So maybe that's the issue. When it froze on me, I was clicking "ok" and then doing the steps.
