I found this on the internet, maybe it helps someone.

(I haven't tested if this works.)

"C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents\My Games\Fallout Shelter" by
"C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\FalloutShelter"

when making the symbolic link.

Looks like a nice solution. Still i suggest to backup manually regularly, something might go wrong.

this really should already just be an option.

It works nice. And works fine with Google Drive too, changing the hardlink to GD folder and using the DriveSync app instead DropSync.

Handy hint. The Android/data/com.bethsoft.falloutshelter/files on the android device doesn't exist until you've run the game once. Confused me for a while as I've been playing on PC and wanted to install to use the Android version too, but couldn't find that folder

I can't find the damn folder -.- started the game, created a vault and played it for 2 weeks now, sync with cloud. connected my phone to my pc, searched via windows searchbar (explorer) for the folder and couldn't find it... is it because of the sync? can I disable it so that the save is created?
Phone: Honor 6X Pro
OS: Android 7 (EMUI)

Might be. I've not ticked the cloud box before. I think the Android structure varies a little between device in the naming. On my Sony Xperia Z Tablet, I think the folder was in the Storage00 folder (or something similar). There are several root folders on my device. I used the Android app "File Commander" to seath for the word sav (the file extention of the save files). Maybe it doesn't create a local file if the cloud option nis enabled?

Well it seems like Windows is hiding this folder completely (enabled show hidden elements) because I can find it with File Commander.... I'm sorry if I missed this, but it feels really strange. Anyway thanks a lot, I'm going to sync it now :D

Fallout Shelter isn't showing up in My games, so I can't get it to work.
Any ideas where it could be?

See the third post from Florent on the possible path. Also note that, by default, AppData is a hidden folder, so you may need to unhide it.

For Android, I found three locations that have Fallout Shelter data:
external_sd
extSdCard
sdcard

You may need to do some experimenting to figure out where your save files live. (Mine were in sdcard.)

Dropsync wasn't able to access the sdcard location, but FolderSync was.
