Fallout Shelter
How do you get an explorer to heal?
I sent out an explorer earlier and he's got a touch of irradiation and damage. I sent him out with 12 stims and rad-away but he hasn't used them and I don't see a way to manually heal him. I'd like to leave him to explore for better loot, but I don't want him dying sometime when I go offline.

They will use them, but usually not till they can get the full effect. They aren't going to waste them just to top off their health. Don't worry, I don't think I've ever had a dweller die while exploring that hadn't already used every stim pack they had.

So when you give them stimpacks and radaway its really only if they find a location in which you manually take over like a red rocket; they won't use them on their own out in the wastes. So if they're low/about to die, it's really in your best interest to just recall them.

No. They will use them automaticly, but only when they can get most or all of the effect from them. So if a stim pack would heal 100 hit points of damage, they won't use it till they have 100 points of non radiation damage to heal. They aren't going to waste it to heal 20 or 30 points of damage. They won't use RadAway until it can be fully utilized either.
