It's a single player game, so if you want to edit your save, go for it.
I personaly won't, since I would get bored of my "perfect" vault in less than 5 minutes.

make sure to put the save in the correct folder, for me is working fine

the correct folder is the one you get the original save from right?
I take my old save,put it in,edit,delete old save,put new save into same folder,Old save is still there though and nothings edited

That one also has the flaw of letting you edit a dweller's current health instead of max health.

Now if they would just update it to find the Steam saves. Would save me the trouble of having to move them to and from the folder the Bethesda version keeps it's saves.

You don't need to move, just set folder in options.

I found out i had to go to my vault selection screen INGAME

also if your copying vault1.sav name the edited one vault2.sav for second save slot in Load Vault

I can't find the save file anywhere. I've gone through every folder I can and tried a search to locate it but it's not picking anything up. I downloaded the game to my D drive since there's more room there, but I can't find it on either the C or D drive.

The savegame location for Steam should be

%localappdata%\FalloutShelter

Or %USERPROFILE%/AppData/Local/FalloutShelter
it's just another way of writing it
