Fallout Shelter

So,I purchased Mr.Handy.
And kinda...regretting buying it? It can only collect resources only on one floor. (And I still didn't get the idea how he can collect caps from the wasteland).
Also, his health is not regenerating inside the vault...or is he? I guess he is one use only?

He's tied to your vault, and if you delete the save game or loses your save game, he's gone forever. Other than that he's basically a vault dweller robot that does not require living space. He helps pick up resources, and also helps fight off invaders or pests with a flamethrower. If he dies, you can resurrect him for 2000 caps or something.

You can also send him outside your vault to explore the Wasteland and they will collect bottle caps, that makes them somewhat useful

tied to vault aka the worst idea anybody has made for the progression of this game

He collects so little caps in the wasteland. I sent him for 16 hours and he came back with less than 300 caps whereas my dwellers makes that in about 3 hours or so. So he's only useful when you are playing actively (or the game is open). Kind of desapointing.

Ive never paid for one. You get them as rewards to the higher level quests frequently.

At least his limit is 5000 caps, so if you have spare ones - why not send them :) And it doesn't take damage there.

I never bought a Mr. Handy. I unboxed one, one time. He actually can be useful. He collects stuff for you and assists in disasters and situations, which, you'll need all the help you would be able to get later on in the game, especially in level 3, 3 wide rooms. Takes forever to put out those fires, and having a 7th entity putting out those flames definitely helps.

The bad thing is, the only time you can repair them is when they break down. So really, they're meant for later-game stuff. Too expensive to use and not useful enough for early game.

Tons of save editors to give you what you wish. On the play store, even ones to use on the web. I've opened tons of everything you can buy and i can tell you it's all a waste of money if you did buy it. No idea why they still try to sell in game stuff when it's so easy to get it all. I get the feeling they don't care about it much.

Most likely because some people still don't mind throwing a little money at them for whatever reasons. (maybe iOS ones :steammocking:)

Because, if they don't get money from this game, then any production on it would just be "wasting money". If they just have stuff to buy ONLY IF YOU WANT TO and nothing there that you can only get by paying, then they have done probably the best thing.

No ads. No "well after this point you can't survive without getting pay-only gear" like Gameloft does. Nothing except just saving time.

EDIT: In other words, if they didn't do what they're doing now with pay features, they'll have to either drop the game altogether or make it super annoying and stupid if you play without spending any money (like Gameloft does).

maybe because they want to support a game studio whose products they enjoy?

Yeah, i hope other developers learn that it's possible to make good profit from a non-greedy, non-serverside, not protected against cheating, single player game with no social features!
and maybe they don't really feel like it's worth breaking ToS for a game that's meant to be a casual game like AdVenture Capitalist rather than a full game to spend all your time on. Though I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you did spend all your time in it.

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone is apathetic to breaking rules.

Aye! That is exactly why I am not really upset for buying the starter pack on PC after the time I spend on Android on this game.
