Right now and it has always been. Mac games marketers use a (BOX) formular to decide weather to release. But i think this idea is outdated with downloads. As their is less effort involved. And "Marketing" only has to slap a Mac badge on the poster.
But why games on mac come out 2 years later, stay at the entry price for forever and have lots of bugs, is not unheard of.
In contrast, a pc game comes out first, and within a year is a fifth or tenth of its entry price. Check out the steam discounts.
I'm not a programmer but it has been pretty simple but risky for me to buy PCs games and http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ bottle them for Mac.

Their is also a wine version of steam for the PC that run on the mac. Now people have that installed and download and run pc steam games.
