Fallout Shelter How to Transfer Save Files from Android/Bethesda to Steam Version

From Bethesda to Steam
It’s more simple:

1º – Navigate to C:\Users\Admin(Your name here)\Documents\My Games\Fallout Shelter

2º – Copy vaultX.sav and vaultX.sav.bkp

3º – Now, type %AppData% in your Search Bar and open the Roaming folder

4º – Click here to go back to AppData.

5º – Now, lets go to Local and then FalloutShelter

6º – Paste your files here. Careful, if you already have a Slot 1, rename the Android files to another slot (vault2.sav and vault2.sav.bkp).

Done. Open the game and load the save game.



From Android to Steam
1º – The first step to obtaining your save file is to go to storage/sdcard/Android/data/com.bethsoft.falloutshelter/files on your Android device. You can use ES File Explorer for this or simply doing the transferal on your PC using a microUSB to USB cable to connect your android device.

2º – Once you are in the file location specified above, you will notice a few files (depending on how many saves you have) called “VaultX.sav” and “VaultX.sav.bkp” (For exemple: Slot 1 = vault1.sav)

3º – Copy the both files.

4º – Now, type %AppData% in your Search Bar and open the paste Roaming

5º – Click here to go back to AppData.

6º – Now, lets go to Local and then FalloutShelter

7º – Paste your files here. Careful, if you already have a Slot 1, rename the Android files to another slot (vault2.sav and vault2.sav.bkp).

Done. Open the game and load the save game.

Do not have any files with the same name?
I used X just as an example, in place of it can be 1,2 or 3, I used just to illustrate, the number will match the slot you chose.

How do you load your save on steam?

(whatever drive you installed fallout shelter on on C: D: E: you get it) for example for me its C:>Users>then your username NOT public>AppData>Local>Packages>BethesdaSoftworks.fallout shelter_blah blah blah you found it by now>SystemAppData>wgs>The file with a bunch of letters and numbers>the file with more letters and numbers again this is where your save is its usually the top one if you open it with notepad its the only one with a ton of letters and numbers i got my save from my phone but when i put it in here it didnt show up in game but this is 100 percent the save file location cause when you take a save file out it no longer shows in game but when you put it back in it will show ingame (not the save from my phone) i havnt gotten my save from my phone to show ingame unfortunately hopes this helps someone and goodluck

EDIT AGAIN...: Got it to stop being a csgo file by opening the file with notepad and setting it to the default files still get deleted when launching the game tho im lost on what to do at this point maybe its just not possible for the xbox app/windows store versions

LAST EDIT: I finally figured out what you have to do what you are gonna want to do is start a brand new game on the slot of which your phones save was on (dont know if its required i just did it to be safe) then go through the tutorial then close out the game next open up your PHONE game save with notepad and highlight and copy EVERYTHING after you have copied all the text go into your game save folder which i have said how to get to in my previous comments look for the one file with a ton of random text just like your phone save. then after you find your new PC'S save open with notepad and highlight and delete everything inside then paste your phones save game text that you got earlier then MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IT BEFORE CLOSING then load up your game and you should have your phone save game on your pc hope this helps any other future player this is for xbox app/windows store not steam or anything else
