Why gender-lock outfits?

So, I've gotten a couple snazzy outfits, Accountant Outfit and Bespoke Attire. Problem is, the women of my vault can't wear them. Only the men can. Sure, women can wear the combat outfits, but why not the civilian stuff?

Seems so arbitrary.

Same with the engineer outfit which can only be worn by women but not by men, figure that.

Some outfits go both ways, some are unisex. It's part of the game balance.

Some outfits, like the sleepwear, actually look quite different on males and females.

You can wear whatever you want in real life, just don't bash a game if you can't wear a mankini in it. Stop feminism (and bs like that)

Well, I got a Greaser Outfit which would be nice for my Dinner Room.
The thing is, all my dinner dwellers are female, and I can't use the outfit. :P

It sucks that even rare and legendary outfits are sometimes gender-locked, considering the resources and effort put into them. When I craft outfits for explorers, sometimes I can only send out male or female explorers because of that.
