Losing resources when the game is off
I have positive resource gain, but when I turn the game on after waking up, all my resources are at 0, all my people are at half health, and my happiness rating has plumetted

Why?

you didn't by "chance" played around with your system time to speed up some quests, did ya?
if not that, did you maybe exit the game while some rad scorpions, raiders etc. were roaming your vault?

Give us a screenshot of the upper part of your vault.

The game estimates how much resources will be used for a few minutes after you quit. So you need to make sure you have enough resources stored to go a few minutes without collecting.

At the moment the screenshot was taken, food looks good, water is iffy but your power will be an issue if you are not at max when you quit.

Try this: Build 2 elevator down and then another power plant 2 wide. Leave it empty for now. It's isolated so won't be a problem with only 21 dwellers. Before you quit, max your resources and then move 1 dweller to that room. Save & Exit. Then come back to the game after 20m and see if your issue is solved.

You doit because they have make the game this way bud. The same happend me to ( early stages in the game ) - 1 day away ok - 2 day away almost ok- 3 day away 30 % resourses left 4 day...........

The same they doing when your base get attacked and nex second your food bar and water bar going down and the enemy was even not nearby this building.
Basically they doit to keep you in the game.

So at the time you max your water then your water room take fire and when you max upp your food then that room take fire and if you happend to max upp everything agen then your base get attacked before you log out of the game.

Basically you need to raise al you stats to lv 10 if not you need to max upp each room whit dwellers but take it easy because if you got ♥♥♥♥♥ weapon and armour whit max uppgraded room then the enemy gonne hitt you much harder and if your room take fire then you need to use 2-3 steem pack on each dwellers and the fire also hitt you harder.

If you uppgrade your dweller to lv 40-50 then the enemy gonne attack your base none stopp and they are much stronger now.
If you happend to have ♥♥♥♥♥ weapon at this stages then you got a problem to deal whit so basically here you may need to spend some mony agen.

And by the way they do not repair bug either just to keep your frustration on.

Advice :

- Try to not lv upp , you need lv 10 endurance first then you add max endurance gear +7 gear to your dweller and at this stages you got a secret hp bonus each lv.

- Try to not lv upp you room at max , if you max upp you room lv then the enemy hiit you very hard and the fire hitt you also very hard.

- Lv upp al your stats at max lv as fast you can ( warning - do not uppgrade this room at max ( to fast ) because if you do that then you need more power and by the way the enemy and the fire gonne hitt this room very hard ).

- On your water-food-power bar you see a short line , try to keep it under 20 %-30%

- You can also use power room to store energy so you may buy some few more .

- You need to send 1 dweller to the wasteland to collect +3 suit P-S-A-I to each dweller and they al need weapon.
Use the same dweller al the time and if he die then you revie him .

- Power - Food - Water - Stats - Weapon - and HP - is the most important , quest and other room ( stuff ) you work on lather and lv upp to.

Sorry my english by the way and have a nice day bud .-)

That's the whole thing as of now

Look at that litle line on your food bar, nice . Then you look at your water and it is ok ( this litle line on the bar) .
But you power is almost at max and that is very bad. When you log out then in a short time the game gonne drain it to 0 so you may need to add more power room ( uppgrade only 1 of the at max if you need it ).

You may need 2 building x 3 power room and 1 building x 1 - 2 - power room.

It sort of stopped after I opsted the screenshot, actually.

It still takes a small bite when I log out, but it doesn't seem to get TOO much bigger over time while the game is off
Tetsuri Jun 9, 2017 @ 5:19am
that's wat I thought. There is a little post drain after logging, but even if your res gets drained, it's not supposed to drop dweller health and happiness when you're offline when they were above the line at the time.

It's doing it again.

I started a new one recently. I have positive resource gain when I play, but I just turned the game on and ALL my resources were at 0!

Already explained why it happends and how to solve it. Your not exiting the game with enough reserves stored.
An Ning Jun 23, 2017 @ 12:00am
200 is not enough?
All I have is 2 sets of fully-staffed 3-room production rooms each and a few living areas
Synavix Jun 23, 2017 @ 1:36am
You want to have the little line on your resource bars (which represents how much you need, vs the whole bar which represents how much you can store) at about 1/3 of the way. 1/2 way at most. If it's more than that you'll run out too easily. Also, your strategy might be different depending on how you play. Fully staffing a room only really makes a difference if you play for a long enough time that you can click the room multiple times while playing. It reduces the time it takes to "charge" in between. If you only play for a couple minutes at a time, it can be more beneficial to have multiple rooms that are lightly staffed because it will still produce the same amount of power, just take longer (which doesnt matter if you're "offline").

I think your picture you linked earlier is gone but to give you an example of my starting area I had two 3-wide, upgraded power rooms, one each of 3-wide living quarters, diner, and water purification. a 2-wide radio station, clinic, scientist room (or whatever the other one is called). And then an overseers room and a small handful of storage rooms. This lasted me up to about 40 dwellers without ever really running short. Upgrading rooms when I could. If you're ever short on water and food try to wait a bit before recruiting or giving birth to any new dwellers until you earn some more caps to upgrade or expand. But most of the time it's power that I run short on, and for taht you just need more power rooms, even if you don't staff them or staff them with only 1-2 people.

What it sounds like is happening is that your power is running into the red and then your other production rooms are shutting off so that they can't catch up.
