What's the point in upgrading the vault door?
It says increase HP, but no matter how much HP the vault door has, when invasion happenes it's only the matter of time when they eventually break in isn't it?

It gives you additional time to scramble your defenses before they break the door down. This is why they suggest leaving a couple of Dwellers with good weapons there to start off with.

no point at all, infact you're better off without it. just have the first room as a triple power plant and equip the dwellers with your best weapons and you shouldn't have any problems.

Ic. This is what I do, two 10+ edurance dwellers with flamethrower at the front door, that's why I didn't think of this gives additional time to prepare, because I don't need it, lol.

I do the same; it seemed kind of obvious after having tha first room a living quarters once, and having to move people there during an attack. Now all my strong people are there with weapons and wipe out raiders.

Eh don't bother

Just keep a very well armed person guarding door at all times (preferably a max level character with high damage gun)

Why guard the door with 1 or 2 folks when you can have 6 beating on invaders in the first room they run too?

Coz that will cost you 6 stimpacks to replenish instead of 2 which is enough to stop the raiders.

But I agree with you, no point in putting guards in the entry room... but I do send them in when raiders charge my vault.

Try having a water treatment plant as first room and watch the ferral ghouls drop like flies :D
It's fun !

I'd imagine 2 people needing stimpacks repeatedly, not that that matters, what with having plenty of them.

Feral ghouls drop like flies in my power plant too.

I'll let this simmer until you understand what I meant.

The fun thing is that vault doors were actually made to survive nuclear blasts LOL. - But no raiders probably went to the Elder Scrolls universe and got the photon torpedo enchantment on their weapons.

This is official Fallout lore give by a ghulified vault tec overseer in FO4.

And they did. But then 200+ years went by and maybe after all that they're not quite as factory-fresh as they once were.

Plus, would you really trust anything Vault-Tec said. Maybe you've got the vault where they decided to make the vault door from putty and damp cardboard just to see what'd happen. ;)
