Warping through planets
There should be a warning on the navigation screen if your jump will result in you crashing into a planet.

(Edited) Currently there is no planet collision detection, but nice suggestion,
currently the only way to prevent this is to check warp path before committing to the jump

just look on NAV-map and u see your warp path is ok or not..

Warp line become red if you on the collision course. But text warning will be nice anyway.

Problem is being able to see that line of travel. It's such a thin line at some resolutions it disappears in certain spots. Plus they should return the ability to click on the destination from the timer. Trying to click on your destination when you have a warp set up isn't easy. What I usually do is set the warp up. Click on my ship, rotate view to align with my destination....try to click on it without clicking on something else (used to click on the destination or time to arrival button) then scroll in to follow the path.

Not sure but even if the line isn't red..... an orbiting moon can still cross the path before you reach your destination...… Does it stay red if this will occur, or only if the direct path is blocked?

yeah, it's all correct and u can see by yourself in the screen that u would crash into a planet.. no need for an extra warning, because u see it..

line green indicates warp is ready, line red indicates warp not ready for some reasons.. color of line is not made to show u warp path is free or not..

i miss the option too..

we have "your ship" option to change view to ship but there is no option to switch the view back by one click.

I agree that the pilot should be aggressively warned of collisions. Yes, you can look in the NAV panel and determine it, but if it is a long trip, then you have to zoom out and change your perspective to see. Your line might be green because the object has not moved into your path yet. Any engineer alive would never design navigation controls without such warnings, because the pilots are humans. The idea that anyone would produce a space craft that, "oh by the way, it doesn't warn you if you plot an insecting course with a moon" is laughable.

I don't think I have ever seen my warp path in a color other than red. Even if the path is 100% clear and impossible to collide with anything, ie if you are approaching a moon with nothing between you and the moon, my line stays red during warp... It may be green while setting it up, but you could still be on a collision course.

You must remember that everything is moving in spacetime.

One issue I have with the current warp system is if you exit the warp screen so you can trace the path, you lose the warp-to button.

Because of this you have to set up the entire warp again - just to verify that you are or aren't going to hit something, especially when jumping across planets.

They need to make it so you can see the entire warp path clearly, not teetering from one planet to another trying to see where your ship is just to verify you won't collide with anything.

If you log off and on while at warp, the warp effect gets removed, and you can SEE if you about to hit a planet.

Maybe they just should change the warp effect, so you can SEE what your heading towards. Besides, it cool watching the planets go by when at warp (when there is no warp bubble)

If spacetime was being warped around you, you may have a lensing effect. However, we have monitors which are super thin, so why not have a cockpit inside with a screen which shows what the forward, rear, left, right, up and down views look like without the effect... It wouldn't be difficult to reverse the effect digitally and output the results on a monitor..

I'd like the idea of a better warp effect, but removing it seems odd... Digitally 'fixing' it so you can see would be an immersive solution. If you stop inside a planet, you should die instantly as the bubble would collapse and you'd be embedded inside the planet.

maybe read what i wrote..

the path color is there to show u the warp is ready or not.. so if u play with warptimes u will see that the path goes red if warp is not ready and goes green if the warp is ready..

the color of the path have nothing to do with warp path is free or not.. the color just show u warp ready or not.. and the warp is ready if the timers are ok, enough power is, but not if u are on colision course.. colision or not have nothing to do with the color of the warp path
