first starting out looting

Hi on starting a new game, in the first derilict at your starting point is there anything worth looting? I only ever found 1 medi injector, or am I missing sometihng else?

I think you're talking about salvaging. Looting implies taking from a location that isn't yours already. :)

You may have gotten unlucky. Usually a few more cans with some ore in them, or a clip for your rifle. If not, you should have enough H to get most repairs done, then go out and "loot" someone's failed fresh start, or "salvage" some derelicts. Being called a "Looter" is derogatory. Some may be offended by such comments. Others wear the label as a sign of distinction. Not a pirate, but will loot if there's opportunity. :)

Your first derelict is hit an miss, I've started about 10 times and there is sometimes a component or maybe one or two canisters of materials but often just some ammo and stimpak. It seem that if there is a component there will be no materials and vise versa. But thats based up a limited # of starts.

I've been looting / salvaging around Bethyr and I've found very few components. About half the time you'll find a 20% Warp Cell and/or 2 contaners with a little raw / refined material. I've also found jetpacks, suits and helmets. And there is often guns and ammo.

I've been told that once you advance and leave Bethyr there is better loot but I'm not there yet.

BTW, crawl thru the vents on modules you find. I've found a warp cell in there.

BTW, crawl thru the vents on modules you find. I've found a warp cell in there.

Find that Tier 2 Detonator and warp to Ia, or a Tier 1 and walk there in 40+ minutes. When you arrive you should be able to find a Tier 2 Det and a nice haul of full warp cells. Or go to Eridil for some not as good warp cells. Best to loot a few fresh start ships for their full warp cells before making your first long jump. It will take at least 2 full cells to get to IA at warp 2.

The devs want you to leave Bethyr, but they've put the parts in spots that are unobtainable with the magic turrets close by. BM derelicts/modules might spawn a T2 Det on occasion, but I think it's rare. The T2 Core Containment Field Generator at the BM station might be doable if the magic LSM turret doesn't get you first. Death can cause you several hours to recover, and if at the right spot and time will end your game quickly.....be wise, stay safe when on your own.

Yea I came stuck as ran out of space suits, I just found a few at a raided automated station, I guess you have as may lives as suits lol

Very true. Always keep a couple spares wherever you spawn. I’ve made the mistake a few times of keeping 7 or 8 suits on my ship and forgetting to restock my station.
