GAME CRASHES
I am already in contact with Feelthere about the issue, but I feel that it might help my case. I'm getting game crashes at random points, at various (i haven't tried all) airports.
A window will open with the Title: Fatal error in gc, and the msg: GetThreadContext Failed. The next window that comes up says the game has crashed and lists the crash report folder would I like to send it to the developer.
Feelthere zendesk has told me they cannot read the crash report and we have been troubleshooting by email, which is not the fastest way.
I'm using a ryzen5 3600; 16gb ram; 1tb m.2 harddrive and an radeon rx580 8gb GPU. All well capable of running the game.
I have basegame (pro) via steam RT; RC; KBOS; ZBAD direct from feelthere and KJFK; EDDS; KDFW via steam. Updated Real traffic to sp6v30. Rc for basegame EDDS; KJFK and ZBAD.

Have eliminated wifi connection issue, issue with geforce graphics. Feelthere also think windows updates KB4023057 and KB5005033 might be causing the issue, but I have not yet braved to remove these. Can anyone help?

Did this start after any particular download (airport DLC, ect.)?

No, not really it started after I had succesfully installed ZBAD, and before weeks later I bought and installed KDFW. Earlier tried if TIST would be affected too, and that is worse than any other, I get 4 planes to handle and then it crashes again.

If it were me, I'd uninstall everything down to the base game. If it didn't crash, reinstall each one untill I found out which download was causing the problem.

I'm keeping that as a last resort, but I am gathering all install files together for the occasion, Thanks.

Note: This post reflects my non-professional opinion and is not meant to be a how-to guide, tutorial or instruction.

KB4023057 (among other things) fixes problems that can prevent the installation of important updates and extends Disk Cleanup.
KB5005033 (among others) removes Adobe Flash (End of Support) and improves SSU quality.
Personally, I don't recommend uninstalling these updates and don't think it's very likely, though not impossible, that these updates cause the issue.

A fatal error in GC can have a variety of reasons. However, considering that this is a game running on an outdated Unity engine, it is quite likely that it is a conflict with another app.

1. First, make sure that Windows and all drivers, not only graphics but also audio, network, etc. are up to date.

2. Perform a system cleanup to make sure that the game does not try to access inaccessible objects from cache. There are many free and paid apps for this, such as CCleaner (personally not a fan of).

3. Especially when using anti-cheat software like FACEIT, this error can occur. If an anti-cheat app is running, disable it before starting T!3DP.

4. Anti-virus and firewall software can also often be a cause. Make sure that ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Tower 3D Pro\tower3d.exe and ..\Steam\steamapps\common\Tower 3D Pro\tower3d_Data\TowerSpeak\towerspeakbridge.exe are considered safe applications and add tower3d.exe in particular to respective exception lists. In addition, hardware virtualization should be disabled in your anti-virus program (at least for testing purposes).

5. Multithreading could also be a problem and for T!3DP, SLI (Nvidia) or Crossfire (AMD) should be disabled.

6. A too small PageFile or incorrectly allocated memory (RAM) can also be a source of error. Since manual allocation of RAM values can lead to system instability, I won't go into it here.

7. Even if it is unlikely in current versions of Windows 8/8.1/10, it can also be due to the Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP). This can be deactivated via CMD. Secure Boot must be disabled in BIOS/UEFI to do so. DEP serves the security of your PC and therefore I do not recommend to deactivate it and do not go into it here.

I hope you find something in here that will lead you in the right direction.

Thank you Eligrim,

First off I'm not going to quote your whole msg cos it will be right above this one anyway.
Then....I'm not planning on uninstalling any windows updates, that has proved disastrous since windows 95. But thanks for the confirmation! So lets see, I will tackle the points one by one.

1. Avg tune up keeps an eye on all my drivers, and it reports I am up to date.
2. Again Avg tune up reports and repairs and cleans. I just don't delete the log files, who knows, some program might not work correctly one day :steamhappy:
3. Anti cheat? Not in a million years.
4. In Avg anti virus T3!DPRO has permission for ransomware protection, webcam protection, sensitive data shield and password protection, I have just now added an exception for T3!D to exclude it from all shields and scans.
5. I am not multithreading, just the one videocard, but i AM multi monitoring, bit of a mixed bag, main on HDMI; second on DVI and third on Display port.
6. Memory and swap file are managed by windows. From the error log file : 16316 MB physical memory [9554 MB free]. 32700 MB paging file [21575 MB free].
7. I think DEP being the problem is as unlikely as either of the windows updates.

Shame really, I was hoping to be able to say to you That you really had found something here. I would be grateful if you could check my counter points and see if I missed or simply got something wrong!

Again thanks, must have taken you a while to formulate that answer. Greatly appreciated!

You could search for FACE under WIN-Logo + i -> Apps -> Apps and features, just to make sure that especially the FACEIT client is not installed on your computer. It most likely is not.

I would add both tower3d.exe and towerspeakbridge.exe to the anti-virus and firewall exception lists. And be sure to test if disabling hardware virtualization in AVG helps, provided AVG offers this option.

Double the RAM size is absolutely fine for the Pagefile.

Multiple monitors, no matter how connected, should not be a problem.
Depending on how you expand your desktop, the CPU thread the game uses could be overloaded. T!3DP does not take advantage of your multi-core CPU.
Should you usually decouple one or more of the game windows (ADIRS, DBRITE, STRIPS) and distribute them to your monitors, try if you can play longer if you don't do that.
Then you could think about assigning a thread manually via the task manager to the game. However, Windows 10 in particular manages this actually optimally and I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing that and I don't relate the error message to that primarily.

I assume, but may be wrong, since the game is based on an outdated Unity version, that some app is interfering here. If anti-cheat, anti-virus and firewall software can be ruled out, the usual suspects are eliminated. What else it could be then would be just guesswork on my part.
What is odd, though, is that the message doesn't appear immediately upon game start.

There are actually some reports of players complaining about problems after Windows updates. So there seems to be some connection somewhere. However, this must be due to the specific system configuration or installed software, since the majority of players do not have problems after Windows updates.
Uninstalling Windows updates, especially those that affect system stability or security, which is basically all of them, is not a solution under any circumstances in my eyes.

I'm afraid that's all I can contribute to this topic. Unless another user has an idea, I can only refer you to FeelThere support again. I hope you can solve the problem somehow.

Thanks again Eligrim,

I have in the meantime uninstalled the whole thing as much as I could, just forgot to rename the appdata, so that all my stats and settings were still active. However the game crashed after 4 aeroplanes, no Real trraffic or color active. So I'm now going to try and remove the appdata too. Trick is with this game that some of it is on steam and some is direct from feelthere/nyergens designs. all makes for a messy installation. Last email from Feelthere said to make sure all the add-ons are up to date, Which I thought they were. I have tried to download the files again but I get files that I already have stored.

Typing face into apps and features just gives me nothing, closest is Farm Simulator.

Thanks for the trouble and I will post the outcome here after I re re-install

I’ve worked it out! I think, hope.

The ADIRS stops responding when placed on a different screen. MMWINDOWS.exe crashes. And then if I close the error windows that come up, I have a chance of continuing. All I need to do is open another ADIRS window and I can continue, sometimes, not all of the time.

TIST is the worst airport for it to happen, mostly about 4 planes in I hear the chime and the ADIRS window stops responding.

My whole Tower!3DPRO folder (steam) is in the eceptions section for AVG internet security (which means it will not get scanned) and I have put all exe files in that very folder in the allowed apps section (tower3d.exe; towerspeakbridge.exe and mmwindow.exe).

I have tried last night to play with these settings and played for over an hour without crashing (on TIST). I have uninstalled the whole game and all add-ons and am now only playing the base game. It still crashed before I put the AVG exceptions in. So it isn't any off the add-ons.

Glad you figured it out.
I hope the game is running smoothly now.
Virago496 Sep 2, 2021 @ 3:06pm
Nope, still happens when Adirs is on the second screen, I'll just have to confine the game to just a single screen. Reinstalled the who shebang and still fine on single screen, but on TIST on 2 screens the game the record is 1 pushback before at crashed. Been trying to upload a video, haven't done it yet.
EliGrim Sep 2, 2021 @ 4:47pm
Damn, that's a pity.
Then it might actually be an idea to manually assign a CPU core or see if a priority increase of the process(es) helps.
Both can be done with Windows Task Manager or with e.g. EasyToolz' CPU Affinity or other special tools. Changes should only be done if you know what you are doing and since I have no insight into your system and can't say for sure if this is the right approach, I can't and don't want to give any recommendation or further advise. I hope you understand.
It is still possible that the underlying problem can be found somewhere else.

Either way, you should share the current findings with FeelThere support. Maybe they already had a similar case and can help better now. It is worth a try.

Don't be discouraged and consider it a partial success that you can at least play on one monitor.
Nonetheless, I really hope that you manage to enjoy the game the way you want to and that the de-coupling of the game windows somehow works out.
Unfortunately, I can't help any further at this point.
