Skin Manager

I'm a little puzzled by Skin Manager- is there a random element to what skin each loco wears, and are they persistent? (If I have a maroon paint job on DH4 005, will I keep it, or might it be red or blue the next time?)

They are not persistent, its random each time you load the game/ each time the locomtive spawns. If you dont like what you got you can reskin it with the radio. The skin manager does not modify your savegame, so there is no way for it to store which locomotive got which skin. How could it?
