Job Vanished
I had one active job, shunting. I finished it and validated the job papers, but I forgot the handbrakes, so it printed a report. In a hurry to finish it, I think I threw that report on the ground, but it may have ended up in the trash, not sure. I set the handbrakes and returned to the validator, I didn't see the report/job paper on the floor, so I tried to "print active jobs", but it did nothing, and checking my stats in the career manager, it seemed there was no active job.

If it did end up in the trash and that somehow deleted the job from the game systems, I don't think this should happen, and you should be able to retrieve it again by printing active jobs. If this is intentional, maybe it should be done in a different way with a confirmation, so it doesn't happen accidentally.

Sending bug report via email. FYI in that save, I accepted another job before creating the bug report, and the above applies to a previous job, not that one.

I'm in hardcore, and it doesn't look like any of the backup saves are before the disappearance of the job, so it feels pretty bad to lose a high paying job after doing some fairly involved work.

EDIT: After learning that trashing a job does indeed cancel it, I'd suggest requiring you to trash it in the dumpster to cancel. Also in my defense, in my rush, I didn't think that what the validator printed out was the job order itself, rather than just a report that I could toss. I know the order gets consumed by the validator in that process, but this wasn't intuitive in the moment.

OK , if it's just a warning of no handbrakes that can be thrown away without issue - only throwing the job booklet in the trash causes the job to be lost.

You're right, it IS just a report. So I guess I accidentally tossed the job itself. Welp.
