Geforce Now 'offline for maintenance'?
I'd like to buy this game, as I only purchase games I can play on Geforce Now (I don't own a PC). It's a fantastic service and I enjoy many early access titles. But for Derail, it says 'offline for maintenance'. I've seen this once before on Mr Prepper. I ended up getting a refund because that seems to mean 'permanently offline'. As in, not really supported. Or am I wrong about this? Any feedback would be appreciated 👍

We have let the GFN folks about the issue and hope to have it resolved soon, as there's pretty much nothing beyond that we can do to resolve the problem. I do remember, however, that the message was "The game is offline for maintenance. We're working to make it available as soon as possible."

Yes that is the exact message I'm looking at. Mr Prepper has the exact same message, but it's been like that for months. Hopefully I can purchase & play this game, we'll see I guess.
This problem only occurred after the last update, i thinks its a problem of the game it self and the GFN drivers or maybe the GFN antivirus. We hope GFN have enough transparency and tell the developer whats the problem. I really love this game :(

Hmm, first time you've experienced a game update on GFN? When a dev updates a GFN supported game, it will break on GFN. Nvidia then have to manually update their systems on their end. It usually takes them 3 to 5 working days, presumably because they only employ 2 people to deliver the entire service (it sure feels like that sometimes).

Derail Valley dev needs to be careful about updating on a Saturday (which they did this time) because that means GFN will break for at least 2 non-working days and the fix process on Nvidia end will only begin on the Monday. We are now in that 3-5 working day wait, so it should be back in the next day or two.

It's worth keeping this in mind for games that are live services or have lots of active updates (or are early access). Every time they occur, it will break on GFN, requiring manual intervention from Nvidia staff, the quickest I've seen is one and a half working days, the longest is about 5.

Hell Let Loose for example is often in this state of maintanence because it gets regular updates, but Mass Effect Legendary never has this state because it doesn't get updated. Therefore, it's going to be a bit of a rough ride on GeForce Now because Derail Valley is an "updating game" for probably the next 10 years... Just something to keep in mind.

If anything I just wish Nvidia could fix games in one working day, not three or five. But it's never the devs and rarely the game that causes this "offline for maintanence" mode. All Nvidia GeForce Now does is scrape data from Steam that already exists. So it's however Nvidia makes their updates...slowly in the working week and never at weekends. Good service though, the slow updates probably being the only weak point.

Ok good info thank you. I play a lot of early access titles, from say No One Survived to Space Engineers, and about 50 others, these have all had updates and dlc, No One Survived is very polished but definitely a work in progress. I don't have problems with any of them. I have seen 'this game is being patched' when going to play certain games, which may be what you are referring to, but that is different to the 'offline for maintenance' message I believe. Mr Prepper has been in this state on Geforce Now for over 2 months at least. In other words don't buy it to play on GFN as you just can't access the game at all.

Yep, but keep in mind the dev is making another update very soon with the smaller steam train so it'll go offline again in the next week or so. Cross fingers they make the update on a Mon/Tues so we don't have another dead weekend lol

I'll keep it for playing soon then, got my hands full with space engineers at the moment, I'd like to try it this weekend so I'll wait & see what they do.
