Why can't I find a DH4 demonstrater.

I have looked at ALL the spurned locations on the map as suggested by guides on steam, and apart from a couple of Dh6 and one or two steam engines, I can't find a DH4 to restore. I have tried exiting the game several times so it will re spurn stuff but still the same. Some of the locations in the pictures in the guides which say some sort of loco should be there, there is nothing. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi , once the locos have spawned they won't move so checking all locations as per the guides is all I have. I found the S282 in the middle of a marshy field south of D yard of the goods factory - it was not easy to see. There will only be one of each loco .

For me the DH4 was the only demonstrator loco not found in a station, mine was upside down in a small pond just outside of the sawmill if I recall correctly

Ok, so how many demonstrators are there, and what exactly am I looking for?

I've had a good look around three stations so far, and haven't found anything. If they're found in buildings, how do you get inside those buildings to find them?

Any advice for a very new newbie would be appreciated.

There should be 6 demonstrators and only one of each type. 2 steamers and 4 diesels. They are beat up rusty versions of the ones you see in game and won't be on the tracks when you find them, you have to rerail them

There was a post in another thread that laid out the spawn rates, something like 60% d locos will be found in stations just sitting around by a building or the tracks somewhere, another maybe 30% also in stations but hidden in a random building somewhere (it won't be a fully closed in building but enough to sort of hide the loco) and then the remaining 10% will be a wreck along the track somewhere (likely just one loco)

I am really getting frustrated now, I am using Fast Travel to get around the map trying to find a DH4 Demo, but I have been to the various locations as suggested by the guides, but in some towns, for example FF there are 5 spawn locations and there is not one demo of any kind, another example CW, the guides say 4 locations but not even one. What do I have to do to find a DH4 demo, plus it is costing me money for fast travel. Any more suggestions guys. BTW I did find a couple of demos at HB, but not a DH4.

Just play the game and be on the lookout. The spawn locations are set to be findable via normal play, no need to wikidive really. There is about 10% chance to find a demo on each spawn location.

If you are using mods there have been some reports that possibly some demos disappeared while play with them, but thats unconfirmed.

ps: if you want to be extra sure you didnt miss anything when searching you can drop foliage quality to lowest settings, that makes game much more transparent.
