And don't be surprised if the US DLC both slips to 2026, and doesn't have a Mallet type either, after all the US does have a decent supply of conventionally arranged locomotives to take inspiration from as well.
Two per type? I know we’re getting the DH6 and WE6, but i didn’t realize there might be a larger DM loco in the works (or a smaller WE for that matter).
Maybe the DM1U and BE2 count as well?
If you check the roadmap[derailvalley.com] the future planned vehicles are (not including whatevers going to be in the DLC):
- DH6 large six-axle diesel-hydraulic loco
- WE6 large six-axle wired electric loco
- PM1 petrol/gasoline powered speeder (essentially a car on wheels for moving around the map, no pulling power at all)
- DE1 MOW machinery for whatever maintenance-of-way mechanics end up being
- WE2P wired electric passenger railbus/EMU
- DM1P diesel-mechanical passenger railbus (likely basically the same as the DM1U but fitted for passenger service instead of light freight)
note that the last two won't be coming until Altfuture adds passenger jobs, which according to the roadmap wont be for a while after the DLC, currently estimating 2027 at earliestThe other two DM/WE locos will be the DM1P and WE2P railcars.
The DM1U, BE2, and other work trains do not count in the "two locos per transmission type" assessment.
These do count:
-DE2, DE6
-S060, S282
-DH4, DH6 (not yet released)
-DM3, DM1P (not yet released)
-WE6, WE2P (neither yet released)
